so basically you are in the chaqa camp that mafia is mostly incompetantPresident Eden wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:16 pmto be more precise, I don’t think the mafia had a designated deep threat by n1. with celaph and Boat already under fire they could be reasonably certain it’s not them. but I’m not sure that someone had already been playing all the way from d1 as certain they’d be the deep guy.

It’d be determined by that player’s personality. Chaqa or Bona I think would be more likely to be independent and decide for themselves that they weren’t going to bother being associated with the team.President Eden wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:16 pmto be more precise, I don’t think the mafia had a designated deep threat by n1. with celaph and Boat already under fire they could be reasonably certain it’s not them. but I’m not sure that someone had already been playing all the way from d1 as certain they’d be the deep guy.

Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Sabi isn't outside the realm of possibility to be scum. I have one or two reasons to suspect them, but the reasons are pretty weird and not super productive.
Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
so to recap heres the play by play
celaph and tfb are getting thundergunned and bussing each other
the other two scum are desperately trying to get a third wagon going on maniac to save both their buddies
so from your pov there is no acceptance that one or the others fate is sealed
you are basing your theory on the idea that scum was still desperately trying to get anything going to salvage that situation
why do you feel they would do this instead of position themself to look good

You've stumbled onto something here in one way.BusinessLamp wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:18 pmIt’d be determined by that player’s personality. I've been scum with celaph before. Kgray and I had to put in a lot of work to keep him alive for a few extra days. I think it's fair to say if I were scum with celaph again, I would cut my losses early.
You probably wouldn't be aware of this since you're newer, but I do like you intuitively figuring this out.

for me it’s just like
if I’m mafia why do I suddenly adopt a “ghug is town” read into my alleged worldview, lol. I know these arguments hold zero weight but I feel like there’s so many soft behaviors that make no sense from me as a scum game

Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
I don’t think most mafia teams designate somebody from the get-go, but have their somebody emerge due to circumstances in the game.
you’d probably want it to be a d1 celaph voter if possible so we can start there:
• it ain’t me (see no point in me analyzing myself here)
• Bona actually tried super hard to kill celaph d1 and d2. you could argue great scum play sure but it looked more like solving townie to me, by a lot.
• Chaqa had his kind of odd and ultimately not especially well explained late flip to celaph and had to be dragged to water to do his analysis. so somewhat plausible deep threat if you’re looking for one I guess. still thinking town but I don’t think this is manifestly unreasonable.
• brain was pretty solid on celaph all d1 IIRC and pulled off celaph d2 when the deep scum play would be to see the bus through.
• Kak is town
• Demon had to be dragged to the d1 celaph vote and has basically been ignored until today because of it, and in the interim looks a fair bit worse once you realize his apparently insightful observation RE: Maniac stopping the TFB train d1 turned out to be wrong.
so I’d say Demon > Chaqa > brain/Bona.
but I’m not sure I think any of them are super plausible

Chaqa sure, add Demon to that mix, Bona I’m way less sure about. I’d even say brain is more likely to do that than BonaBusinessLamp wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:18 pmIt’d be determined by that player’s personality. I mean this has been what’s affected my view of you all game. I’m really good at reading people’s personality types and predicting their behaviors, that’s what I think my major skillset is. Even though there’s a lot of specific interactions that lead to the conclusion that you’re town, I’m hesitant to ever fully write you off because I do think you’re capable of having picked that path from the jumpChaqa wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:20 pmYou've stumbled onto something here in one way.BusinessLamp wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:18 pmIt’d be determined by that player’s personality. Celaph being coach by kgrey had been brought up in this game and previous game so he probably caught it from that so idkChaqa wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:20 pmYou've stumbled onto something here in one way.BusinessLamp wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 4:18 pmIt’d be determined by that player’s personality. I’d probably also be open to shoot Flum, who I don’t feel has delivered upon the promised digging and especially playing the game with Lamp.
not feeling Lamp as the kill.

he needs to put his vote somewhere useful, or else I’ll be forced to conclude that voting him out is useful
Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Its pretty weird to consider long term sustained self voting to be pro town activity
was there some reason why my case was so obnoxious and so toxic that it warranted a self vote that has lingered for this long?

I don’t think the self-voting is scummy, I think it’s just anti-town. “Let’s lock in this day as me vs. Lamp” doesn’t feel like a scum move. It feels like a stupid move lol
