I know a guy who would disagree:

Thought: Jamie and maniac could be teammates setting up this play if maniac is flipped turned Miller or janitor

So I’ve been debating the flipper.

The highest EV play for flipper is sacrifice GF. Allows the real GF to go deep as the cop will mistakenly trust blue scans.

2nd highest EV play is to fake cop claim and go 1 for 1 with the cop.

JOAT and Doc are behind that, as both roles can do things to confirm themselves )Saves and shot)

Forth tier is VT just to throw off the count.

Then comes unused janitor for a late clean scare.

Then waaaaaaay behind that is Miller and goon.

on further reflection, I don’t feel that Demon ever actually applied his belief that Godfather is the strongest Flipper choice to this game state.

surely if one believed this to be true, one would be much more concerned about both the veracity of celaph’s Godfather flip and the reliability of my scan on bozo.

there is no mention in Demon’s ISO of any of this. maybe because he knows celaph is the Godfather and bozo is innocent?

instead there’s a very strong conviction that Maniac chose to flip as VT, which he disregards as a very bad play in his analysis, yet is adamant this is the world that occurred.

I spent a long time reflecting on that during D3/N3, and I concluded the answer was “no.” he has no reason to try to power through a Maniac miskill there when we were already circling the wagons around Maniac and a few other people.

I thought there was a Hail Mary play where he LARPed as the JOAT after they successfully caught JOAT!damo out and cleaned his corpse, but since our JOAT is still alive this can’t be the case. that was the only mafia motivation I could find for the play, and in any case he would have a lot of trouble explaining the lack of a second kill.

Yeah I haven’t had a chance to fully process this yet but this seems to make sense. I do think the day would’ve been more contentious, and Jamie’s name was out there a bit.

Last thought for now, as I'm clogging the game thread. Let me know if I'm completely off base here.

I doubt that mafia is ever going to NK me, because as a newbie, I've got no experience with end game situations so I'm undoubtably going to be a weaker than average player for late-game town.

Right so you’re saying I was acting to prevent two people switching their votes so celaph would leave? Why would I associate myself in that if the risk is fairly low

After I voted for Kakarroto, it would only require one voter to switch from Kakarroto to celaph to put celaph in the lead, so your vote prevented celaph from being DKed with 1 vote change, not 2. By voting after me, the suspicion would be less, so it is not that much of a risk by itself, and with celaph being the GF, there was a chance he would get scanned N1 after just missing the DK, so there was a reason to take some risk to prevent his DK.

I spent a large portion of D1 at odds with Eden over what I perceived as his tunneling, and during that time I laid out other players I took issue with, you included.

I'd have to go back and looks, that was almost 2 weeks ago. And you already seem to be iso'ing my D1.
