there are plenty of level headed folks who pushed both cel and kak who can easily just be collectively wrong on both instances - and this includes myself. I reread celaph and found a number of posts that dont raise any alarms at all

not every post a mafia makes raises alarms. in fact I would wager that celaph’s style inherently lends itself to not raising alarms. rather he’s going to be a wallflower and disappear for stretches, say things that sound decent enough but are missing the bite of critical analysis that defines town celaph’s game. town celaph isn’t a high volume poster but is probably the highest quality poster for his post count in a given game, or close to it.

and he doesn’t HAVE to be mafia, but it’s a rather decent shot. as snowy pointed out, wagonomics really look bad for him in light of Kak’s flip.

it’s certainly true that not everybody who was reticent to hang Kak or celaph is mafia. but there ARE four of them out there to find, and kicking the tires in that group is the best way to do it.

When push comes to shove, Maniac votes TFB to try and get momentum there, putting TFB at 5 instead of Chaq/Cel/Kak at 3. Saying "TFB is marginally better than Kak." Ignoring the Chaq/Cel wagons.

Finally he pushes Kak into the lead, suddenly claiming a townread on celaph. This vote makes it 6/5, which celaph then makes 7/5. Basically the deciding factor.

Chaqa is a great scum player who managed to come back from 11/1 down to win and based on his own claims and what others have said in the past doesn't have a scum meta and "can do what's necessary to win" if he thinks Celaph is a good bus or a good fake attempt at a bus for town cred later why wouldn't he go for it? I still prefer maniac and Celaph today I think but I don't think Chaqa is anywhere close to a clear.

Kak, your supposed PR read, was under threat for about the last 3 hours of day. Your only mention of kaka was a single question at Sabi. You stated you were getting a quick bite to eat EoD-40 and your last post, with 13 minutes to go was:

This is not the reaction of a townie who's PR read is on the block. Then you go on to tut at the game for not doing anything.


Whole many of the others I mentioned will look more or less scummy depending on cel's eventual flip, this play is scummy either way, twice as much if cel is actually town.

Maybe it is primarily helping you to appear to be helping town.

As scum I often look for town-seeming efforty things I can do which don't require me to lie.

So I was left choosing TFB over Kak, (who I’d already said I wouldn’t vote for easily). So TFB was best of bad choices.

Few minutes to go the two lead wagons were Celaph and Kak. As I town read Celaph, Kak was the only other choice unless someone got flash wagoned.

They did kinda outright declare they did town read me and did want me alive so it wasn't hidden. I guess I do have to watch out for being pocketed again by Sabi but I do genuinely believe they're town at least for now.

You pointed out it was odd, I was the one who formalized an actual conclusion from them and called two of the three at a minimum being scum explicitly.

I don’t love either lead wagons. Unless a third candidate comes into play then I think ##vote TFB is marginally better than a Kak kill.

TFB was only mentioned once before this without any explanation or interaction from Maniac side.

That is interesting. Maniac trying to buddy/pocket Celaph or Maniac-Celaph scum team? Part of me leans the latter given I think I have Celaph as a scum lean, but that's so blatant from Maniac that part of me wonders if it is the former. I lean the latter personally as I think Maniac hopes we'll write it off as Maniac being Maniac, but I am curious as to your conclusion.

As for him never mentioning me at all before lumping me in with snowy and ghug without explanation and then voting for me after saying he doesn't like any of the major wagons? Mildly odd. One thing to note is that during this time, Chaqa is the third major wagon, tied with celaph. If he voted for Chaqa, as Sabi, Jamie, and I lobbied him to do Chaqa could have been tied for the lead. Maniac's strongest target was Chaqa. He had the shot and gave no indication his read on Chaqa changed and emphasized his read on Celaph was the same, but yet he didn't take the shot. Why?

They advise us that chickens eat carrots, politely stands up for Autists without attacking people, sees the best in Jamie and expresses concern for Macca’s situation. Sure they haven’t done anything to help town win the game, but we just can’t daykill them today and anyone trying to (looking at you Chaqa) is a monster.

Either Maniac is insane or at a minimum 2 of the 3 of Chaqa, Maniac, and Celaph are scum imo.

But yes, you are correct, I probably do not notice this if not for you pointing it out. So good job there, but it goes to my point about me wanting to see more conclusions from you. You do say this is odd, or this means something a lot, but never actually give your opinion on it. Even if it may be wrong or isn't fully formed, I want to see what you think it means when you make these observations as that's what helps me separate whether you're town on the hunt or scum just tossing things at the wall while trying to give yourself room to maneuver
