I disagree. I think it could be worth it. There won't be any magic numbers that guarantee someone is scum or town and trying to do that with spreadsheet wizardry is a fool's errand, but that doesn't mean that spreadsheets can't be valuable. After seeing the results you generate, if we see outliers of interaction beyond what's expected based on activity, a qualititative analysis of the actual posts themselves could likely yield positive results.
tl;dr worth doing because it could act as a very nice pointer that could catch things the human eye might miss, but isn't an all-in-one solution itself.
A good reference guide to compare to when people do reads and vca I guess.

Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
i’d do a new one for each day/night cycle (probably just combine d1 and n1). it’ll be easier for you to count up that way i thinkBesharamSabi wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:16 amAnyway this is why I wanted to wait till after day 1 to get my self situated into the game.
Is my spreadsheet so far making sense or not? How else can I improve this?
I was going to do day by day and overall game tracking so I can see patterns and what not.

Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Well after I had to abandon my sandbagging meta, I am trying something new which is uh this (minus me being mad online and picking fights). So far I don't mind it but I obviously need to improve a lot of my general way of explaining stuff that isn't just gut and vibes based.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:06 amIn general, I would agree with you, but sabi has shown that they very much don't play like most other people, so I don't know how much this applies to them.President Eden wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 12:01 amghug’s right.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 11:55 pm
i disagree with this. their story changed over the course of our argument which is very ??? in my view. it’s not necessarily scum, as it is sabi, but i don’t believe it’s towny
write this down in your homework son, both because it is a historic occasion for me to utter the above words, and because there’s a lesson here.
as a heuristic (so don’t take this as gospel, it’s not always true, it’s just a trend), mafia are more likely to keep their stories straight than town. people getting passionately entrenched in a plainly inconsistent position and moving the goalposts to protect that position are more likely townies clinging to what they think they have than they are mafia (who, having the advantage of knowing basically all the information, can simply pick a position consistent with what the town knows in the first place).
to really use this you want to look to whether there was mafia motivation to defend that specific ground despite the cost in looking inconsistent (because as much as inconsistency isn’t really a mafia tell, townies love killing people based on it). if there isn’t an apparent mafia motivation for getting that entrenched, it’s probably a townie
I'm also not claiming it's scummy, but I'm very uneasy about using it as a reason to townread them.

pretty sure I mentioned I scum read you, snowy. Unprompted, mind you, which Eden and I think others commented on. Like I think you are playing a very different game than normal and I don't think it is as pro-town as it was the first game I played with you when we were both town (M1019 iirc), which I really enjoyed. Maybe it is because you want to avoid an NK and you don't want to use that super harsh and grating strategy that got you killed in M1020, but I would hope if you're town you become old snowy again and lead the town in a useful manner. And based on a ctrl+F I mention you 29 times prior to this post and have quote replied you a bunch so it's not like I am hiding from you.snowy801 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:15 amrun some numbers on how hard tfb is avoiding talking about meBesharamSabi wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:11 amThe only thing it helps me figure out is who is talking about who (and avoiding talking about who).TheFlyingBoat wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:06 am

Granted if I do die tonight I need to grant one person to continue this spread sheet while I'm dead.

Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
What is your explanation for this?
Is it due to one of his last posts?
Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Thanks for confirming that you're scum I guess? I do admit I wasn't completely sure. Not a great strategy idkTheFlyingBoat wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:22 ampretty sure I mentioned I scum read you, snowy. Unprompted, mind you, which Eden and I think others commented on. Oh actually I meant to ask this in my town!bona post, are there any situations where Kak is/was actually scum? I've read all the role explanations and searched their powers on the internet but it's still my first game so I'm getting a little confused between "flipper" and "flipped town" etc etc

being more serious, do you mean that Boat was avoiding talking to/about you specifically now at night, snowy? because upon review Boat pretty clearly seems to be interacting with you and thinking about your alignment throughout d1.

Eden still has the burbonic plague
Also eden is too lame to partake in drugs

Re: M73 - Fowl Play - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
So lets say that your theory is correct damo.
wouldnt that mean kak grossely misplayed his role and couldve chosen virtually any PR and the pretended to be that PR and then dies and flips that PR and if the real one claims it gets real PR killed either by miskill or nightkill?
im trying to see it. and based on kaks last post I do see it. Im
just baffled at how badly that was done if thats truly the case

fwiw I think my first flip flop of the game will be changing damo from scum to town here. I dont see any advantage at all for scum damo to do this

Added total counts as well as post counts to help put the number of interactions in context (or atleast in better context)
