Evelyn sat at the large oak table, the other leaders of the resistance sat in chairs all around her. She had met most of them, though there were some new faces she could not place. It was very rare that they gathered in the same location. Mara was very careful to limit the risk of an attack that could take out all of them, but she had insisted this meeting was necessary. Evelyn did not know what the meeting was about, but she did not think it was good.

Mara was seated at the head of the long table and stood.

“Thank you all for coming. I will keep this as brief as possible. Joseph’s resistance outfit in Mastford have been killed. We do not know for certain what happened, but we suspect there was a mole in his crew. There were no survivors.”

Nobody spoke, so Mara continued.

“I did not bring you here to grieve the loss. I brought you here because I believe it is time for our strategy to change. Ksenia’s power grows every day, at the same time our people are picked off one by one. The Lady of Power has grown more aggressive in her persecution of sorcery, and too long have we fought back in the shadows. It is time that we talk about bringing the fight to the forefront.”

The energy of the room changed, and Evelyn saw the uncomfortable fear on most of the faces. Someone she remembered as Michael finally spoke up.

“I appreciate your desire for change Mara, but we cannot face Ksenia in outright battle. We fight in the shadows because we must, not because we want to.”

“Agreed,” a new woman with intricate tattoos on her face said. “We have reports that Ksenia is able to control hundreds of Echoes at the same time.”

“Not hundreds, Hend, but thousands,” Mara corrected. The room collectively gasped.

“Our best can only control maybe a dozen,” this woman Hend continued. “I can only control five myself. How can we match her in open battle?”

Evelyn once again surveyed the room and saw heads nodding in agreement. It was a valid question after all. Evelyn strained to control several Echoes at the same time and had never even gotten to five. She had no idea how Ksenia was able to control thousands if that was true. She could not fathom the power required to do so.

“I understand your skepticism,” Mara said. “But I believe we have been looking at this the wrong way. Or at least not the most creative way. Hend, what is more difficult to control - three butterflies or three soldiers?”

“They are the same to control,” Hend replied.

“Exactly. The number of echoes is what constrains us, not what they are. Surely three soldiers are much more useful to manifest compared to three butterflies. I believe this concept is what we have been ignoring.”

Evelyn perked up at this, and then she realized the path down which Mara was headed. Clearly Hend’s mind was connecting similar dots.

“Please don’t say what I think you are going to...” Hend said.

Mara smiled. “We need to start thinking about what is more useful than soldiers.” She left a dramatic pause, allowing heads to turn towards her, the silence bringing them to further attention.

“I think it’s time we go slay a dragon or two…”

That's a question we still have time to resolve. I at least had the excuse of being drunk when I wrongly pushed that track and still figured it out pretty quickly.

Also stop pretending that if one of the inno scans flips town, we have to flip the other one next. Only one of them is scummy, why on earth would we flip a relatively towny player who has scanned as town? That has actually no logic to it.

Also I can pretty well guarantee you that Maniac and goldfinger are going to be pretty far off mafia's list of people to NK, so it's not like they might be dealt with any other way.

So in addition to what was discussed through D2, I didn't like his D3 at all, like even for rdr that's a pretty high level of ghosting the thread, and I don't like his response to pressure from ghug was immediately voting him in response in D5.

Was there even a good case for him through D2? He was super busy for a bit and OMGUS is peak Rivera
