What Fluminator is trying to do here is to claim that:

"I am town"
and
"I, the person with the username of Fluminator, am town"

...are two utterly different statements which have totally different meanings.

Clearly they are not since if Fluminator posts the first statement then it is explicitly the case that the "I" at the start of the sentence means that Fluminator is the subject of that sentence.

Perhaps he simply thought that if he made such a bold claim, nobody would think it was worth checking. Note that he made his claim on page 20 and it wasn't until page 39 when anyone actually went back to his scum games and checked.

I think you think you've caught him in a lie but really you're just talking about two different things.

It was not a clarification, it was an attempt to edit his original claim.

His original claim never depended on the specific use of that phrase. What he actually said was:

"If you look at my two scum games on this site I never once posted I was town, while I regularly do in my town games."

NOT

"If you look at my two scum games on this site I never once posted the exact phrase "I am town", while I regularly use that exact phrase in my town games."

His claim was that, as scum, he never posts that he is town.
But he has done that as scum, as I have shown you, therefore his claim is false.

I will say, I think Durga's movement (not just her vote, but the implied quid pro quo to kgray (the implicit offer to switch off celaph in exchange for both jumping on me knowing kgray's love for celaph) to get her to stop the Fox train as it was building momentum does lend further credence to Jamie's case against Fox and does bring those two further together in my book. Jamie is also my top town read by a mile now

Why exactly?

Flum back pedalling on his claim is weird and scummy. If he said, "yeah, I am lazy didn´t check and didn´t remember saying I was town last game", I think it would be NAI. But trying to change the meaning of that post is weird and scummy. And the case on Fox isn´t that solid, is a good one for D1 but it isn´t like a confirmed scum.

I have posted documentary evidence of someone making a false claim, on the basis of which they were specifically asking everyone to trust them as lock-town.
If that is not a good reason to vote for someone I don't know what is.

I think you think you've caught him in a lie but really you're just talking about two different things.

I tried using the bot to search for posts by fluminator all the way back to M39 with the search string "I am town" (in quotes to ensure only the exact phrase "I am town" is found) and I do not find any use of that phrase prior to this game by Fluminator (though Jamie and worked had both said it in posts quoted by Flum, so the search filter definitely works). I then went back and checked Flum's post and he said "im town". I then go back to M50. I check again and see nothing tripping the filter. I then go look at his past games and I see he announces he starts a trust tell in M61 in which he will say "I am not scum and will buy you a pizza if I am" I am confirmed town. I then search all mentions of the word pizza by Fluminator and here they are:

I'll townread anyone who buys me a pizza. I'm feeling kind of hungry.

I haven't lost the bet yet.

I don't think the Fox case is like confirmed scum at all, I just agreed with it more. Probably because I was already leaning that way with my Fox read when I saw it.

If he just made a mistake, that would be one thing. But instead he is doubling down and insisting that I am wrong, in the face of very clear evidence.

Scum!Flum enjoys the thrill of the chase. In general I think that Flum is very competitive and he likes to win. He can't let himself back down here, and his pride demands that he stand up to me even though I am right about the falseness of his claim and I have proved it.
