Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
I actually agree with DT there that the "slip" looked fake as fuck.
If youre a new player, and you mess up like that you feel embarassed, like you just made a fool of yourself. If youre a scum and you did it intentionally for towncred, you go in on it some more and you act defiant and ask the GM to clarify it to drive the point home that you "really didnt know, honestly".
I know because I did the exact same thing in my first game here on webdip. Boy did it work well.

I have no opinion on it, because that could come from either alignment trying to pretend to be oh so clever.

To me, "manipulated" implies you thought someone else was involved—I don't think people "manipulate" their own posts, but I do think players "manipulate" each other. Perhaps I'm just misreading you, but you seem kinda angry about it. Why shouldn't I be examining these things?DoubtingThomas wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 2:13 pmFox, what the fuck are you sayingFoxcastle wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 1:59 pmI would point out that DT isn't really trying to convince anyone that Chippe is scum, he's just throwing shade on what seem like pretty clear newbie town slips.
I, too, find it suspicious. Doubting Thomas, you mention that Chippe's town slip could be "manipulated", can you expound on your theory there? Are you implying he's being coached?
even a 13 year old can say blatantly obvious town slip like that one once they completely read the rules. why are you overexamining shit? i have never implied he was coached anywhere. i was implying his intelligence might allow him to manipulate such posts, which could be or not be true?

Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
because when someone says 'someone manipulated X' that means THAT SOMEONE manipulated the X not SOMEONE ELSE manipulated THAT SOMEONE to manipulate X. I don't get your assumption. Vecna - re rdr mixture of gutfeel and light posting
Regarding my affection for you what do you mean 'wrong again'? I was right last time.

my dear Jamie, if I went around asking myself why I do all the things I do then I'd never get anything done

Well I have to say, I'm completely convinced by this defence. Clearly Snowy is 100% town and anyone who says otherwise should be policy lynched.

Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
^ Joking of course. But seriously, why would you have to ask yourself the reasons for your actions? Surely you should know what you are doing? If you constantly find you're asking yourself "oh, why did I just do that? I have no idea why I do anything?" then you probably need to seek therapy, or treatment for early-onset dementia.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 2:41 pmWell I have to say, I'm completely convinced by this defence. What you are actually saying, I purport, is that you don't want to explain your real motivation, so in order to respond properly to me, you'd need to fabricate a convincing reason for your behaviour, and you're too lazy to do that.
Scum.

nice townie agenda.... oh wait
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
I completely agree.
You'll have to forgive me for being less than concerned. For whatever reason it simply does not seem to ever happen that I get mislynched
regardless, since I promised to actually play this game (and I think I am) I will profer what little I can
the reason why I offered no reason for the Fox vote was because I had none. If I were to put a label on it then I would say that the flow of the conversation demanded that pressure be put in him immediately following worcej's slips
but eh, is it really worth saying such words out loud?

I suspect that if you worked in accounting you too will find yourself asking why you do the things you do as much as I

Is this post real?ND wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:51 amIt's a good question and my answer is not a very good one. I just don't know. It's kind of confusing how this is all set up, but at the end of the day all we have is his words on it. You know? Everyone has to make their own decision based on that and the rules of the game.dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:35 am@ND do you have any thoughts/opinions about Brain's claim?

I work in public procurement law. I know the exact reason for every decision I make in my working life, because at any point I could be called upon to defend those decisions in court.
I have worked in this field for 10 years and have so far never been successfully challenged.

I do however think the above post can be summarised thus:
"I was just going along with the flow and trying to look involved without drawing too much attention to myself or doing any real scumhunting".
Uh-huh.

That's all any of ND's posts have really been. Fluff that uses a lot of words to say absolutely nothing of value.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:05 pmIs this post real?ND wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:51 amIt's a good question and my answer is not a very good one. Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
As Jamie stated, the PM would look like this:
You are Gamora, daughter of Thanos! You are a vanilla town. Each day you may vote on who to lynch. You win when all foes opposing the town have been eliminated. The Soul Stone is attached to you, but you cannot use it. It only becomes activated when in the hands of Thanos (Serial Killer)
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
bit unfair there don't you think, Jayjay?
considering I created that flow I hardly think I ought to be accused of going along with it
but you do you. I suspect it'll hardly matter in the end
also for whatever reason this reminded me to ##vote bo_
