Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
Can you cite a game where you were town and advocated a D1 no lynch?
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
If I had it my way, we'd only settle on no lynch if we didn't have a good scum candidate at the end of day. That way we would have something to work with. We've lynched scum on Day 1 before, so I can't be slavish to opposing it, but mostly, it's kinda clear that it's going to be a mislynch. And the opinions of the dead are useful, but they need to be fresh. By the time we have enough to go one from dead townies, the Day One victim is pretty much useless.ghug wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 11:09 pmLol I'm pretty sure the SK makes D1 NL better.
These NL arguments always fail to consider that the way we get better at lynching as the game goes on is by looking at the opinions of and on dead players. A lynch, even one of town, tells us significantly more than a nightkill, and a nightkill only tells us anything if it comes after some information is established.
If we sit here not lynching today and then xorxes dies tonight, what have we learned beyond xorxes's role?
Anyway, enough mechanics talk. Ghug, if you think Darg is scum, do you think Xorxes is bussing him?
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
Foxcastle, in M36 you came out with this followed by a long detailed post when town: Hey kittens, I've been following the thread pretty loosely, but have identified all but one of the the scum team within 90 percent certainty. I'll tell you who they are after I read Tom's message letting me know which side I'm on.
That doesn't sound like advocating for a D1 no lynch.

Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
On the peterbot, what is the time supposed to mean? It seems to be going down from 60:00?
Also, I'm confused, what is the End vote supposed to do? Is it supposed to end the phase early if a majority of the people decide to lynch someone with the End vote?

Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
I started playing in M33, and except for the game where I wasn't playing D1 and subbed in later (whichever game was running in May), I believe I can say all of them. But you were eager enough to go back and look at M37, so I'm sure you can go take a look in my history. I'll be here playing this game, though.
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
This is the game I mentioned that I subbed into, so I wasn't around Day 1.y2kjbk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 11:17 pmFoxcastle, in M36 you came out with this followed by a long detailed post when town: Hey kittens, I've been following the thread pretty loosely, but have identified all but one of the the scum team within 90 percent certainty. I have a small request... can you please come play this game?

Lol I am playing this game Foxcastle, I'm validating your claim about your D1 no-lynch stance to see if it's honest or just trying to look participatory, as it was in M38.

It counts down from 60 hours because I don't want to push the deadline, when the day ends, I'll pull it forward.ChippeRock wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 11:18 pm##CALL GMChippeRock wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 11:17 pmOn the peterbot, what is the time supposed to mean? It seems to be going down from 60:00?

The end vote is just that, sometimes there are confirmed scum and they normally get "hammered"

Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
Sorry I mean M37, that's where you clearly use no-lynch as a means of not having to fake who you suspect.
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
Also answered in sign-up thread. No, they only find out who the original holder was.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 11:09 pm##CALL GM: If the Soul Stone changes hands D1 or N1, does the SK find out the identity of new holder of the stone at the beginning if D2?
Why are you so curious about the SK?

Oh hey Brainbomb is here.
@BRAINBOMB: Are you planning to claim Roleblock this game whether or not you are roleblocked? If YES, how does that help town? If NO, what has happened since last game? Let us know please.

Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
In Foxcastle's first game M33 where he advocated D1 no-lynch, he was scum. He has advocated D1 no-lynch when scum and come out hunting when town without mentioning D1 no-lynch, and this game when challenged on it he quickly realized he couldn't keep that up.
Re: MAFIA XXXVIII: INFINITY WAR
Note in general that I won't be using past games to analyze this game as it's not that helpful, but Foxcastle invited it with his claim that he always advocates for D1 no-lynch.
