Good life advice too. Bona, write that downTheFlyingBoat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:39 amI don't know about my actual first mafia game as that was 13 years ago on Smashboards and I've completely forgotten it, but the first me I remember was around a year later on MafiaScum and I will always remember being a furious 13 or 14 year old that no one listened to me and I got the most profound advice ever from someone who was understandably annoyed with me complaining about being right in the EOG as a townie: "Being right counts for shit if you can't convince anyone of it."BesharamSabi wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:15 amHow did everyone's first ever game go? And used to play on Smashboards and on the old forum as well. Have never played with BesharamSabi before and I don't think I've played with kgray before.

Were they the ones who convinced Chaqa to buy that Camaro, or did they talk him into cutting the mullet off instead?

Why would you not reveal town reads... This is exactly what snowy means when they say you're keeping your options open.President Eden wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:41 amThere's been a ton of noise and not much substance so far. I'm not sure what you mean about keeping my options open.
Re: M70 - THE BASKIN-ROBBINS CONSPIRACY [HIDDEN]
Ugh, I knew this was going to be a high volume game and I will just say I am not going to do my typical snide posts here and there on comments just to make noise and drown out any actual constructive content.
Constructive content being said, I am super onboard with no-killing for the first 3 or so day phases. Force scum to make the first several moves and get PR actions off.
Pretty simple explanation as to why: no information on any flip. If we just randomly flip people (our typical D1), there is no post-flip information to help town at all and we run the easy risk of hitting PRs over scum. On D2, we cannot really VCA anyone once they are dead via day flips because you have no idea what alignment the person that died was. We cannot use any meta bussing or non-bussing analysis.
I figure I am in the hard minority on this, but after all my thoughts on how to approach this game (this is the first no-information flip game I have played in), forcing scum to act first makes the most sense.
##vote nokill
Also, additional comment: I plan to review individual players and make groupings of people as such:
Anddddd…. Going to go for the night after dropping this. My analysis time will be used tomorrow when I don’t want to work while I am at work.

Also, additional comment: I plan to review individual players and make groupings of people as such:
- People who create constructive content - this is easy: track the people who actually try to figure the game out.
- People who are responding or critiquing without their own ideas - these are the ‘I agree with this thought’ posters, mostly piggy-backing off others.
- The non-value adders - AKA: noise-makers, otherwise known as the brainbomb of this game (P.S. - Luv you BB)
- Lurkers - you know what these are. No further explanation needed.
Anddddd…. Going to go for the night after dropping this. My analysis time will be used tomorrow when I don’t want to work while I am at work.

That makes sense because they must have played the board game version.

They're based off minor and not particularly important interactions six hours into day 1. I'm "keeping my options open" in the same sense that you "keep your options open" by not proposing to someone on the first dateDurga wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:45 amWhy would you not reveal town reads...
