At a tavern outside of Falme Galad was observing his half-brother Gawyn playing dice.

“Dice” Galad said distastefully

Gawyn looked up and shrugged then made a joke, but Galad sat there with a stone face.

“Don’t you have a sense of humor Galad?”

“I purport that I do have a sense of humor, Gawyn. You only think I do not because I do not mock people.”

Gawyn chuckled, but before he could roll the dice again the tavern doors burst open. Ten men walked in wearing the the royal insignia of the Seanchan. One of the men pointed at Galad and muttered to two of the other guards.

“Arrest him!” The Seanchan Captain said

Gawyn and Galad were immediately on their feet with their swords drawn, but the sheer number of Seanchan guards overwhelmed them. Galad was taken outside the tavern to the headsman.

“What is the meaning of this!” Galad said angrily “I purport that I am innocent!”

“The Court of the Nine Moons has charged you with high crimes against the state!” The Captain started by reading from a long scroll. This went on for several minutes due to Galad’s protests, but eventually the Captain ended and motioned to the headsman. The axe fell and Galad’s head rolled across the ground.
