I think it started with Damo offer to scum to NK Maniac and if no NK happens then he is 3P. I pushed it a bit at D3 to see how Maniac and possibly some scum react but after Vecna's claim it became a bit pointless.

But I still see the way Maniac is playing a great way to go as 3P. Not much townread to be a NK and not much scumread to be a DK. Too bland.
Town Maniac is usually a lot more wild and creative (not always in a good way).

How do you feel about brainbomb insisting that Maniac is the most obvtown ever, and that his behavior is perfectly in line with what he would expect of town!Maniac? Could it just be a difference in how you two expect Maniac to behave?

I think Brain is just reading the thread with the knowledge of what happened after which is a totally different thing then playing since start and interacting with things while it was happening.
This said, I can't see solid reasons to have Maniac as top town read.

I'm somewhat concerned I have a blind spot here. If you have a grasp on the mindset of a scum player who does this, I'd love to hear it.

Why do you think they're town? I always appreciate your conclusions, but I've mostly been asking you a number of questions (I don't know if you noticed) because I've been getting the feeling like most of your ideas don't have a reason attached to it.

Do you also think 3P Macca would roll the dice on lettuce like that? Maybe to completely remove suspicion for end game? Scum has 4 (now 3) lives to bank on for risks like that, but 3P has but one after all.

I think you are right on Macca, my read on them is mostly by gut feeling on their content then a more logic approach. I don't think VCA or more analytical tools work well on Macca. But I don't think I do the same with other players, so if you can point it to me maybe I can give you a better answer.

On the second part, I think a 3-P Macca have a big disadvantage with EOD time and will need to try something really wild to get a shot at winning. Anyway, they are not my top candidate to 3-P so it's not something really likely.
