Mafia would risk sacrificing one of their own just to delay their scum buddy’s death by a day. They know if Tom is scum he will give his items to another scum player.

So your logic is that scum wouldnt put a gladiate on teammate Macca because impending disaster, and town wouldnt because disaster impending. I can follow that logic at least.

It still could serve to just become townread because "scum would never do it" logic. And it wastes a daykill, which also works majorly in scum and 3p's favor.
