Mafia 69 Day 2 Vote Count 1: The "Who Schedules a 9 AM Meeting" Edition
damo666 (2): foodcoats, BobMcBob
Jamiet99uk (2): ghug, Maniac
Maniac (1): Kakarroto
lfischl (1): Hamilton Brian
Macca573 (1): damo666
BobMcBob (1): snowy801
snowy801 (1): Jamiet99uk
Lots of people still need to vote and meet the post requirement.
30+ hours remain in the day phase.
Additional GM Note:
I would remind players to make a good-faith effort to respect people's pronouns. Mea culpa for losing that information in the player list.

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
Posted too soon.
I'll go on the record and suggest that the "I know why I voted for X, why do you think I voted for X" doesn't really help town. It's like a super secret club handshake and either you get it or you don't.
If this were a townhall I would stand up and yell, "I don't want to play your guessing games! Our lives are at stake! Tell us what you mean!"
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
What aren't you feeling? What do you imagine you would be feeling, otherwise? Tell me more.
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
It matters not why they think I voted for Bob, nor did I ask for that. The import lies in the way they play around this fact. foodcoats, for example, had a very illuminating reaction that I town read him for.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 2:37 pmPosted too soon.

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
In trying to do the work, your (Snowy) references to Bob and why you might be voting them consist of:
- making mountains out of molehills
- getting tied to "solutions"
None of which really seem sinister or strong enough to encourage a vote.
Unless you're doing some "reaction test."
I think I am wasting too much energy trying to get you to explain your vote on Bob to the rest of us. I feel like Bob is town.
There are other pieces for me to look at besides your vote.

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
i seem to have figured out why there is a vote on me
and while i appreciate the thought, i think it is also a relatively low effort gimmick
it has some merit, and seems to be giving some results, but its not great

I mean I already told you it's not a big deal and not to over think it, I don't know what more you want from me.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 2:44 pmIn trying to do the work, your (Snowy) references to Bob and why you might be voting them consist of:

In other news, what particular items would register a role block? I'm heading out right now or I'd dig into it myself. I intend to when I get back but if anyone else wants to...
And why? Maybe to see what items could be in play. Speculate on why a mafia/town would use said items.
And the value? Not sure there is an outstanding one to me right now.

Pretty sure you get a roleblock message regardless of what you do during the night

Hi Vecna, love you too. The last time you ignored me you were scum, and I called it. But I am not feeling it here.Vecna wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:07 amHe also hasnt commented that I havent commented on him whatsoever. Its slightly excusable since he hasnt been around at all, but this does feel like that moment where I really want some participation from RdrBobMcBob wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 11:57 pmthis is such a strange thing to pick up on
i had also pointed out their absence, and it wasnt exactly a hard thought to come by
also its not the sort of thing people tend to intentionally parrot
so its strange that rdr spends one of his very few posts picking out this of all things
noting this one down too
My current thought is that Jamiet is scum, but I am still some pages behind.

And maybe you are right and both are (or Ghug is 3P).Vecna wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:12 amAlso, whenever does Ghug actually put this much effort into a post as town?ghug wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 11:57 pmYeah, it's just too convenient.
Jamie softed that he knew I was "lying" about the chicken yesterday but he had no interest in fully claiming it. Suddenly the fact that I've claimed roleblocked is enough for him to claim, and he's all ready to explain the roleblock as scum also thinking I'm third party. That's not a logical thought progression.
On the other hand, ghug makes a joke about having Jamie's item as the game opens. Jamie believes I'm serious, for whatever reason, and thinks I'm third party fakeclaiming an item (even if you think I was serious, concluding I'm specifically 3P rather than just scum in general makes no sense unless you know something). His team roleblocks me, and then he helpfully volunteers this information to the town, but makes no case either way on whether i should be killed immediately or not.
The scum explanation makes significantly more sense.
##VOTE Jamie
He is enjoying the shit out of this moment.

Hi rdrivera.
Unrelated, remember to send nice current thoughts messages to God QT. I know I really appreciated any, when I was dead.

FYI - I am traveling via plane with my family today to visit family. This is the first time my 22 month old will be flying, so I won’t be around today at all.
I will be around for this phase, but please excuse a relatively shitty activity period from me.

Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
I town read you, bob, and ghug. I did not think Bona was scum either. I was pretty fluid with expressing who I thought was town, so I am curious why you think I was not.
I am not caught up, so there is probably more change to put in here as I try to read every once and awhile. Bot lurking will probably be my main method unfortunately…
I think Maniac is scum still. ##vote Maniac
Your description of entrapment for me also fits bozo FWIW
Re: M69: Trapped in the Chipotle R&D Lab [HIDDEN]
Okay real talk I want every Maniac voter to explain themselves, both yesterday and today.
The best explanation so far I've personally processed is ghug, saying "Maniac's not fun when he's scum" and ghug didn't even end up voting for Maniac.
Kakarroto - 'his posts aren't sexy'
foodcoats - '+EV'
Hamilton Brian - 'don't let lurkers/low-posters live'
worcej - 'don't have much to say here'
How was this the leading counter wagon? This is ridiculous. Look, I'm not saying there's any reason to town read the guy, but there is a massive congregation of scum reads centering on Maniac and nobody will explain why, why seems extremely opportunistic to me, as though people are riding the wave of public sentiment instead of actually thinking through their scum reads.
I don't want this game to be bogged down to hyper-narrow focus on a few individuals.
Who have we mostly talked about town reads so far?
Bob for sure, then sprinkles of HB/food/ghug/Vecna depending on who you ask.
Who have we talked about scum reads so far?
Jamiet, damo, Maniac (I hesitate to even include him for above reasons), bozo, me? And 'talking' is being generous for some of the names here.
I want to hear what people think about Vecna, or foodcoats, or hell even lfischl. Where does rdrivera, Kakarroto, Hamilton Brian lie on people's radars? I mean sure, a lot of them are being glossed over because there's just not much to talk about, but a day and a half in even that ought to say something.
Why do you town read Vecna? What do you think about Kaka and rdr so far?

Well yes, and I don't scum read bozo either. But someone's gotta be scum.
