The first time it had spoken, immediately after the doors slammed shut and locked themselves, it had given a simple directive: "eliminate the imposters."

Hours of debate, interrogation, posturing, and arguing had led them in circles. Eventually, the hammer fell upon the young intern, who had just been trying to make enough money to buy a new microphone for his computer...
