##Call GM
could a person opt to allow their rose to be turned off on the night it is active? Since it asks as a BPV can a player say they dont want to be protected?

Brain, you said you were going to start reading based on quantity in ascending order. Where's your Macca questions?
I'll go back and address each of yours.

With that scum QT open for the 24 hours prior to start, there was plenty of time to concoct some strategy. Look to see who might drive discussion somewhere else.
B. what did you observe day 1 that looked like a plan? Not sure yet, but I've already offerend my distaste for the amplification of your pre-game choice, so maybe that was by design, as well as PE.
C. You appear to suggest that scum has a strategy of out of game discussion and driving topics to elsewhere: who did this in your opinion? Not sure yet; D1 was like a D1 is. Maybe it's not the drivers of conversation but who wasn't in the conversation?
D. Who are your three scum at this point and why Pretty hard to answer, but I'd say maybe I am more sus of you, PE, jamie, snowy.
Re: M68: Guns N' Roses GAMETHREAD [hidden]
I want to appeal to you, since I believe you have a gun, once more: shoot e.m.c
It may be tempting to be the hero. To catch the bad guy with his pants down - wham, bam, thank you m'am.
But at the end of the day, I think we will all agree that we simply do not have any degree of certainty on who scum is (though once I say this a dozen geniuses will emerge into the woodwork on how them and them alone have the answers to our woes and everyone else who is equally certain as them is wrong)
So then our best shot is the one which best illuminates town. Three comes to mind:
e.m.c. - we said we'd shoot him if he did exactly what he did, and we should follow through
brainbomb - gives us certainty on the nature of the top wagons d1
macca - just a third possibility similar to e.m.c, though less egregious
I want to discourage the brainbomb shot as I think he is town. I don't know about macca really but if the criterion for being shot is nonparticipation surely e.m.c deserves it more.
Let your shot not be one of death and hatred, but of illumination and possibility.

Here is a few questions id like every person to answer before night expires
A. does Johnny seem coached in his game awareness as of N1, and if so, by whom? whose posts do his resemble?
B. Does Johnny day 1 seem the same as Johnny N1
C. Are the contradictory statements and clear omissions in Johnnys play a newb side effect or are they potentially just scum being openly scummy.

I was considering a food and Eden team a possibility. Now I have to see if Eden white knighting Food is just good town play or scum buddying for credit (spoiler: tending to the first, but without bot it's harder).brainbomb wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 1:04 pmrdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 9:25 amWell, sorry for missing EOD and sorry Food.
I have to read the last pages and rethink a lot of things.
A lot of things? this seems a bit too dramatic
I also have to re-read Worcej. I started to get a bad feeling on Worcej later but can't really put in words, it gives me memories of M66 (or 65?)

I find pretty weird and kinda forced and that's why I asked him about it. And I think he answered something like fair point, which isn't a real answer. I always find really hard to sort HB.brainbomb wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 5:12 pmrivera what did you think of this post by hamilton?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:51 amWhat info you want to get from the setup? What's the use of a gun to town other then randomly shooting someone? Scum probably have 3 guns. Assuming worst scenario where they all kill a target, it will be down to 8 -3, which means only two miskills for town. A wrong town shot that kill another town just count as a misskill too, so why a non megalomaniac town would want to play vig and choose a gun?Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:36 am
On the face of that statement, sounds ok to me, but I need more info from the setup.
Re: M68: Guns N' Roses GAMETHREAD [hidden]
Too hard to do without isos (like I said, we lost), but something that comes to mind is his post about points.
That sort of heuristic approach is something I would characterize as a newbie play than a experienced scum coaching. A "good player" as most people tend to consider themselves after being lucky once has no need for such tools. They know all, and thereby cannot deign to lower themselves to actually compare their state of mind with a rough representation of reality.
I don't think anything really stood out as different, because he was rather bold in day 1 as he appears to be in day 2, but I do wonder how he came to the names he rattled off for the vig shot.

Probably the same thing he thinks of most, if not all, of my posts. Since we're on the topic of Hamilton, I largely town read him off his tone and content but it does strike me as rather bizarre that he meme voted foodcoats so very early on and just stayed on it like a mule the entire day through.
Not demonstrative of a lot of interactive thinking.

Re: M68: Guns N' Roses GAMETHREAD [hidden]
@HB when would you made the shift from "let me just stay on food for luls" to "I actually think this man is scum", and what was the impetus for that change, if it existed?
Re: M68: Guns N' Roses GAMETHREAD [hidden]
Snowy, this post in particular resonates with a great number of established players about me. This type of sentiment in red strikes me more as something damo, worcej, or jamie would say in the maf chat and johnny would say, ooh thats good maybe i can use that.Johnny Big Horse wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 11:13 pmSomeone (from town) please shoot BB. We would be on page 20 now, rather than 40, if he wasn't here. His stuff is way too tedious. He adds so much complexity. Even if he is a towny, we will have a much better chance of understanding what is going on if he wasn't here, or if he were mostly silent, but I don't think that is in his nature. Even if he is a towny, he hurts the town.
I dont think its out of the question however that a new player would be turned off by my 148 posts day 1. But jamie had over 100 posts too and I dont recall johnny really explaining his scumread on jamie, so I dont think he finds jamie complex, tedious, ect.
To me this might be just barely enough to show he uses really sporadic reasoning that might be an extension of maf chat dialogues, but put in his own words.
Re: M68: Guns N' Roses GAMETHREAD [hidden]
I ffind it really strange that he needs to specify that town shoot me as opposed to wanting scum to shoot me. Again this can be newb factor, but it also can be perceptual leak thinking he needs to ask town to do this for him
Re: M68: Guns N' Roses GAMETHREAD [hidden]
While I see your point, I believe that Johnny was arguing for your execution (what's the new word again?) day 1, with similar logic. I will have to revisit that recollection with iso once the bot is back up, but I'm fairly certain on that.brainbomb wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 7:24 pmSnowy, this post in particular resonates with a great number of established players about me. I do believe what may potentially put off someone from you rather than Jamiet is that Jamiet is almost always responding to someone else, where you tend to go on a soliloquy. I don't think you'll find many instances where Jamiet has more than two posts stringed together in a row.
Also if I were a mafia this night, I don't think I would be spending time complaining about how much you talk. My time would be much better served predicting who has the rose which night, though I had thought to myself pre-game that if optimal play for town is to take rose, they would probably do it early, and so the best play for scum would be to take gun n3. These things are hard to predict, but just a gut hunch.
