Humor me with an explanation on rdr and ghug.

I commented on them a little later to ghug that they're mostly on here for good player protection; nothing they've done is hugely AI, but nothing makes me want to kill them. Ghug's doing his usual mix of jokes, pressuring people, sharing his thoughts. Rdr's done a decent job challenging ideas like with your early comment on Damo. He hasn't posted many reads, but I don't think that's atypical for town rdr.

How many of these are good player protection and how many are reads?

Most people are on for a combination of the reasons you gave plus a preference for meaningful activity. Vecna was pure good player protection. Macca was pure read. You and rdr are mostly on there for good player protection, though you're both also playing how I would expect both of you to play as town. Worcej is mostly read with a little bump from activity and Demon is a small bit read with a bump from activity. If they're scum they've at least produced content for us to work with later.

It's worth noting that the ordering is just straight from the number of posts list (ignoring me). HB isn't on it despite his numbers because almost all his posts have been off topic.

This is actually a lot better than what scum!celaph provided last game... though it was noted post game that celaph improved their scumplay over the course of the game.

Celaph, how can you say you are protecting goodplayer!Vecna? How is Vecna a good player so far?

Good player Vecna is a meta thing. As town he has generally done a good job solving the game, obvtowning himself, and drawing the NK. He's null in my books right now, but I think DKing a null Vecna on D1 is a bad move.

Gimix, with their attention to probability and percentages reeks of "newness" but also reminds me of myself in my opening mafia game as scum: throw out numbers to generate an impression amongst everyone else that, "Hey all, I'm here and I can contribute to town" while doing nothing of the sort.

There weren't so many numbers after all. Anyhow, my being new to Mafia is a fact, as is my not being new to Diplomacy or to a few other games. So newbie I surely am, newbie AND townie of course!

@foodcoats, I don't read celaph as scum, but I don't strongly town read them either. I think that list of "no kills" is a pretty easy thing to throw together on Day 1.

@HB, if you take offense to the term off-topic, perhaps insubstantial is better.

Early on your point out Damo's shot comment and gimix's probabilities. Later you bring up ghug and Chaqa's votes. You hadn't really done anything with any of those points so far leaving most of your posts to be about cooking. I don't scum read you for it, but it doesn't get you on my do not kill D1 list.

To give him some reasonable excuse, Eden graduated law school yesterday and has a friend of ours in town as well as his family until tomorrow, so he has very very legitimate reasons to be MIA at the moment.
