Aye... But they know, and knowing, too would be useful.kgray wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:16 pmI think using the PRs we have is more important than deducing the setup. We're already down two and I expect you'll soon be dead or RB'd into oblivion, so I think we should use what we can. I'm not convinced knowing the setup is worth it.dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 4:31 pmShould we ask the town RBer (if there is one) to NOT RB tonight?
That way (not that they could signal whether they do, of course... but if most in the room wanted it... I'd hope they would choose not to RB) we would see if there is a town RB, and can deduce our setup.
The downside, of course, is that our town RB would not be RBing someone... but this is a worthwhile risk, yes?

It's a dominated strategy because they can RB him while hunting for the others.

Because it's just too "out there?"kgray wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:58 pmI think we can reasonably discount this theory.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:49 pmWe were assuming that scenario 1 was out of play due to the roleblock claims. Because if we learned that we are in the setup without a town roleblocker, then we'd have a 50/50 shot at killing scum by voting only for the two people who claimed to be RB'd.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 6:00 pmBecause it's just too "out there?"kgray wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:58 pmI think we can reasonably discount this theory.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:49 pmWe were assuming that scenario 1 was out of play due to the roleblock claims. So setup 3 or setup 5.kgray wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 6:06 pmBecause if we learned that we are in the setup without a town roleblocker, then we'd have a 50/50 shot at killing scum by voting only for the two people who claimed to be RB'd.
It's possible that scum didn't kill Dargo specifically because they didn't want to miss out on a kill if a doc save happened. If this is the case, then there's no Godfather and Journalist, which would mean ghug is a guaranteed clear.

True, but as long as scum control the narrative for establishing wagons, then it's a possibility. It's a moot point and all the attention to set-up isn't helpful to me right now.kgray wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 6:06 pmBecause if we learned that we are in the setup without a town roleblocker, then we'd have a 50/50 shot at killing scum by voting only for the two people who claimed to be RB'd.

I missed that vote. What a weird vote. That IS scummy.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:46 pmKak moving off Maniac onto Macca was also very scummy indeed.
@Kak, why did you vote for Macca to avoid a tie rather than moving to Flum?
Re: MAFIA 66: The Battle for Olympus - Game Thread [hidden]
No. We're not considering a darg daykill until either there's a counterclaim or a janitor kill.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:51 pmI wish I could find the post that suggested killing Darg if they make it past a certain night. I think they're a reasonable wagon for D4.

Quoting the whole thing because I know clipping annoys some people.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:46 pmI didn't say it was impossible that it could have been TvT, I only said I don't think it was TvT.foodcoats wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 4:23 pmJamie, can you explain with reference to the voting why you think D3 could not have been TvT? I know why you scumread Maniac independently of the votes, but maybe you can weave the narrative for me around how Maniac was scum there.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 3:51 pmWell, I don't think yesterday was TvT.
I am going to keep pushing Maniac's daykill until one of us is dead.
I specifically voted for Flum because I saw a rush on Maniac. So I'm interested in how you perceive that rush - or whatever you might call it, or the general "what happened" at EOD3.
I think we got close to daykilling Maniac, with momentum on his wagon, and then with the two top wagons tied, Fluminator, presumably in a last-minute attempt to obvtown, voted for himself.
What happened from that moment was that Kak's vote on Maniac tied things up again, but at the exact same time, several people reacted to Flum's self-vote as scum-indicative. So the votes moved around at speed and some people were very anxious to avoid a tie.
If it was a TvS EoD and Maniac was saved, I think the greatest suspicion should be directed upon people who moved to Flum "to avoid a tie" when he was already several votes into the lead. Damo looks especially suspect from that perspective.
Kak moving off Maniac onto Macca was also very scummy indeed.
These are interesting points of view, and I will consider them. Thank you.

When he's scum he's very ambivalent about TvT wagons.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:46 pmIf it was a TvS EoD and Maniac was saved, I think the greatest suspicion should be directed upon people who moved to Flum "to avoid a tie" when he was already several votes into the lead. I purport that claiming you moved to a solo wagon to "prevent a tie", and then stayed there for the same reason when it was 9-6 and nowhere near tied, is sketchy.
