Of course this is up to you but I believe Serial Killer must be immune to Nightkills. Because they have to play as one-person-team against all the town including mafia team. At least this must happen I think.

Semi-unrelated question (to this game, anyway)... what's the history and reasoning for the general ban on +1'ing posts in a game?

Great question! It's because of outside influence. When someone dies they usually get access to the info qt and god qt. We (GMs) ban +1ing because it's impossible to tell who did it and we don't want players to be influenced by +1 posts that could have been made from dead players who know everything if that makes sense.

Now that we can see WHO is doing the +1... that might end up some day being loosened. Dead folk still couldn't do it. But those IN the game maybe can. Of course you can and should ALWAYS +1 GM and co-GM posts. All of them. Really.

I have played an online, real-time mafia for a long time in the past, so I am familiar with most of the rules, but I am not sure what kind of platform we will be using for this

It will be played on the forum. Very clear rules will be posted when the game begins. Basically, it will be played through the forum itself. Anyone who rolls mafia (minus the traitor) will be given a QT link where they can post secretly and make actions. All Town PR roles and Serial Killer will submit their actions to me or Dargorygel via a private message. Phases will get adjudicated at clear times and so on. Add yourself to the list!

We still need about 7 more. If we don't meet that then I will have to simplify this somewhat to account for the amount of players we have.

Regarding the +1's... The original rule was ALSO to stop the potential of some sort of scum-signal. NOW this does not seem to me a likely scenario. I can't speak for ND, but I am not willing at this point, without a lot more discussion, to change the rule suddenly. Let's think through any ramifications... maybe aim at changing it for the NEXT game, but have people (especially some of the old timers who originally MADE the rule) consider, reply, and then have us decide as a group.
