To the last question: why do you think he's scum over just bad town? I don't know Chaqa that well, but it's not inconceivable to me that he does something like this as town.Vecna wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:07 amGo and read back the games where Chaqa has been trying and is actively playing in a pro-town manner.celaph wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 9:33 amThis just feels like it lacks the critical thought that I normally associate with Vecna. Of all the people with poor reasons to vote Jamie, why is this the one that you want to push? I can't help but feel that Chaqa was chosen because he's easy to push. He's rather feared after M62 and few will actively come out of the woodwork to push back despite a poor day like they will do with others.
If he wants to try and tank his town-game to just be able to lurk out his scumgames I will gladly kill him D1 every single game.
Also, what critical thought are you looking for? He is actively making it so that no critical thought can be applied.

In M54 you were goon and he was watcher. In M53 you were VT and he was mafia. Fox didn't play in M50.

It would be rather bold for scum to hedge this blatantly.Macca573 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:55 pmI don't like the manner in which you're defending yourself.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:53 pmWhy?Macca573 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:53 pm
The wagon is not fake, as clearly evidenced by all the votes on it. The wagon exists.
How strong are the arguments on support of the wagon? Well, that is a different question. One which seems to have different responses from different players.
I like it, and I'm liking it more and more as Jamie keeps talking.
I could be wrong; I've been wrong plenty of times before.
Re: Mafia 65: Dreamland II [Hidden]
I agree with all this except the last line. That said, I think Macca is leaning town in my books.Macca573 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:53 pmThe wagon is not fake, as clearly evidenced by all the votes on it. The wagon exists.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:57 amSo to summarise my wagon:
Bob doesn't like me.
Ghug's vote was a comedy vote.
Chaqa's vote was a comedy vote.
Macca sees colours.
Maniac wants me to be angry.
These are not real arguments.
These are not genuine cases.
The wagon on me is fake.

I was thinking about saying hi but I've already said hi to you 2 times this phase
Re: Mafia 65: Dreamland II [Hidden]
This is a pretty poor read in my opinion. I have a high enough opinion of Vecna to think that he wouldn't get scared by someone just claiming to have a strong item in this set-up.Chaqa wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 3:56 pmVecna is scum scared of what I'm going to do tonight. If he was really town he would at least let me institute my plan tonight THEN kill me.
##Vote Vecna
Also, why would you make this play before reading the whole set-up? Though in all fairness that question applies arguably more so if you're scum so I guess stupid townpoints for Chaqa.
Re: Mafia 65: Dreamland II [Hidden]
Is that a good thing in your books? Because overall I think more substantive version of last game is more pro-town, but I get the feeling that you think otherwise.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 3:25 pmThis jasnah feels way more substantive than last game.jasnah wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 1:00 pmFrankly I don't really care how much Jamie does or doesn't get riled up. I think that if you're DK'ing based on how angry someone is able to pretend to be over text you're setting yourself up for arbitrary wagoning not to mention a pretty toxic metagame as a result of an incentive structure that rewards over-the-top rage.
At least Jamie has been talking at all, which is more than can be said for Chaqa. I'm aware that time zones exist, so maybe he will come back later and say more and maybe we'll have good reasons to unwagon him again, that's perfectly fine, and if that happens we have ample time to switch to another sensible wagon before EOD.

Re: Mafia 65: Dreamland II [Hidden]
In fairness to Bunny, the way you pushed against the Durga wagon gives you substantial cover when she flips scum because you're claiming that your push actively ignores her current actions.Vecna wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 2:37 pmI literally came out and told people not to kill Durga D1. Repeatedly. I engaged people on saying it was a bad idea. People asked me why I said it and I gave reasons, citing her general competence meant she was a bad D1 kill.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 2:32 pmYou didn't defend Durga last game, you just steered the conversation. It was masterful. The same way you haven't defended ANYONE. But you've steered the conversation. It's well done. And now you OMGUS me? After saying I'm scummy and then not saying I'm scummy and then I'm scummy again? It's like you're looking for something to stick and get your feet under you.
I have not steered any conversation here. Im acknowledging people's concerns about Jamiet but im not engaging it because im lacking a strong opinion myself.
Youre doing a complete 180 on both situations to try and fit your agenda.

+1000 to Foxcastle.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 8:31 pm"I thought this was a problematic function and was concerned about its effect on games, but since it's still here, I'm just going to lean into it regardless of how much I might look like a hypocrite."Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 8:29 pmNo. I actually called for that feature to be removed after it was brought to my attention, as you're probably aware. However, I got no support from this community, and my request was treated very dismissively by the site Admins without a second thought. So there we go.
Re: Mafia 65: Dreamland II [Hidden]
I wouldn't really describe your play last game as pocketing anyone. You played a good pro-town style that got you townread for your competence. It wasn't really targeted at kgray in the same way mine was.
The style you played last game was better for town I feel than your current approach. Rather surprised to see you mix it up.

From the mini-game:Bonatogether wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 5:01 pmI'm going to claim that there's at most 1 scum in my voters from earlier, since they all went to different wagons and haven't joined back up.

Catching up. Is there much new? I had a miserable day at work (unlike Jamie) I had to ask the actuarial standards board for a ruling on whether something was sufficiently against client fiduciary interests as to require me to resign. As near as I can tell:
The chaqa wagon is for him doing a dumb chaqa thing.
The jasnah wagon is because she misused a pronoun.
The Jamie wagon is because he was insufficiently angry.

Did ghug's vote influence your vote for Chaqa or do you have your own reasons that you want to explain?
