An important difference between you two is that you opened to Venice in the spring of 1901, while xorxes opened to Venice in the autumn, presumably because of what he saw on the board (Austria being in Galicia and Rumania and Russia being in Silesia and St. Petersburg).

Good observation. His play was probably ultimately much smarter, and I'll keep it in mind if I ever decide to open against Austria ever again. Mine was a little more balls to the wall hoping for the best.

Since most mods are in the tournament, we ask for your patience while we sort out a solution.
