No, but it's comforting to be in the familiar position of misunderstanding your D1 jokes.
I am a little skeptical of you having a good first impression of me, though. I feel like normally it takes you a while to townread me.
Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
What is unsettling about damo? Why does celaph get a shoutout?
Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
Theres a difference between you actually scumreading me and the thing youre doing now. Youre just trying to get me to reveal more information about how I actually read you.

Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
damo suggestion to question asker seems too helpful to me.
Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
maybe ill give away more subtle hints next time you do something alignment indicative
Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
You think it's unlike town!damo to suggest something like that? And it's more weird to you than Jamie saying he was glad we weren't talking about mechanics, and then spending a few pages talking about question-asker suggestions?
Why don't you want to talk about celaph?
Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
there is a difference between being helpful to genuinely be helpful; and making a role use suggestion that people would assume never comes from scum
Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
celaphs post about being an alien was rather endearing and I felt like it was not forced. didnt advance the game mind you; but it was unscummykgray wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:18 pmYou think it's unlike town!damo to suggest something like that? Your top townread Darg did the same exact thing, and he skirted away with the question-suggestion thing so easily.
You dont think Darg does that to appear to be the oh so helpful towny?

Re: Mafia 1016: America's Past-Crime [HIDDEN]
darg is present and not scummy. asking questions and its still fun darg where he isnt 50 pages behind and overwhelmingly scumread

I agree damo's suggestion is better than using the Asker as a cop.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 1:14 pmThe problem with using it as a one-shot Cop is that it gives you a 50/50 trade of a Town PR for either a single Scum Guilty or Town Clear, and nothing more.dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 1:10 pmhmmm.... that's probably true. My question is TOO simple.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 1:08 pmI think the Question Asker should consider a question in the vein of what Damo has suggested, actually.
Making statements like Dargorygel is suggesting adds no value since the Question Asker is not a Lie Detector; it doesn't require any given player to have made a statement which can be verified / falsified. The question "Is Dargorygel Mafia" would return a clear yes/no result even if you, Dargorygel, had not posted at all.
Damo's proposed question could provide the following results, among others:
1. In the best possible outcome, it could provide three townclears, which in a game of this size would be very powerful indeed for Town
2. Or, if the answer is "yes" that there is at least one scum in the given pool of three, this means that Scum effectively cannot kill the 1 or 2 townies in that pool, because if they do so, they will out their team-mate.
Another possibility is to divide the 12 remaining players into 2 groups of 6, and ask "are there more scum in group 1 than group 2". This could solve the game late in the game when 1 or 2 scum have been found and we are down to a few players. For instance, if we found 1 scum in the group with less scum, all remaining players in that group would be cleared.

Cant' argue with that, everything celaph says is endearing.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:19 pmcelaphs post about being an alien was rather endearing and I felt like it was not forced. didnt advance the game mind you; but it was unscummykgray wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:18 pmYou think it's unlike town!damo to suggest something like that?
