Re: Guess the Word
Is the scrabble score of your word more or less than the 14 points for "donut holes"?
Re: Guess the Word
Is the first word in common English usage? Also are you very sure that both spellings have a u and are 2 letters different in length?
Re: Guess the Word
No correct guesses so far.
With no point bonuses, the combined score of the 2 words is less than 14 points for both spellings.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 1:21 pmIs the scrabble score of your word more or less than the 14 points for "donut holes"?
First word is very common in English. I am absolutely sure about the spelling and length difference, but I would advise for now to stick with the longer spelling for now.
Re: Guess the Word
My estimate is that we're looking for a two-word phrase where each word is 5 letters long. If it's 4, then the short version is is just 2 letters and that's unlikely. 6 letter words are possible, but you quickly start running up against the 14 point Scrabble limit. And it's somehow related to donut holes but not edible.
With all those constraints, it's kinda infuriating that I'm not coming up with anything to guess!

The first word is 4 letters, and the short version is just 2 letters. I will say that the short version is not properly a word, but there is a good reason relating to the phrase as a whole that I am accepting the 2-letter version as an acceptable spelling.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:19 pmMy estimate is that we're looking for a two-word phrase where each word is 5 letters long. No, they are at the beginning of the word.

Re: Guess the Word
Maybe in Greece or something! LOL
Re: Guess the Word
Another hint: the two-letter “word” sounds the same as the four-letter word when pronounced.
Re: Guess the Word
I'm pretty sure I know the first word, even more so with that last clue. Unfortunately, I don't know the second. Is the second word a physical entity? Is it a noun?
