LOL...indeed, Just a thought. I'm amused by your response and will think on it.
Now my kids are calling, so my lazy Sunday morning is gone...
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
I guess my galaxy brain theory is out trhe window as it seems town had/has no way to scan for an SK

Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Okay, I finally got around to reading EoD (well, 30 minutes of it) and it matches up with what I'd heard. Celaph looks fine coming out of it, Ezio looks like a complete lunatic but also fine, and HR has repeatedly refused to explain how he could possibly have guaranteed scum on kgray. It stinks of someone who knows they've messed up and are going to flip so they aren't even trying anymore.
Kgray asked for my reads on a few people soon after I went to bed yesterday, so off the top of my head:
HR - scumcore lol. Either that or one of the worst town plays in living memory
Damo - reasonably town. Is reasonably likely to be telling the truth about his role I think
Donny - townlean at the moment from what I remember. Has way too little substance but it doesn't seem malicious.
Bunny - reasonably townie. Seems to have contributed a bit more over the last day, made some good posts, seems to have been helping from recall, still has done a fair bit of not much. Overall townie vibes at the moment.

I look forward to seeing how you try to push me for the daykill as SK or something

Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
HR is like playing D&D with that smug old dick that's been playing since the early 80s - Complete with a 'I'm better than you' look, crossed arms, and repeated attempts to kill you and make you upset on purpose because 'Dammit that's how things worked back in my day, player vs. DM'
Cel is like playing playing Monopoly without the auction rules - Everyone knows the rules, but has the way they've always done it instead, and then when you try to play it turns into a ginat 6 hour boring slog and a fucking fight with the family.
Ezio is like that vaguely familiar-but-not-quite card game you play with your 8-year old relative that just when you start to get the upper hand they 'remember' a rule that completely changes the game back to their lone advantage.
The key to winning is not to play play any of this trash, and thus we need to kill all three of these.

I like these explanations lol. I don't necessarily agree with them all, but I like them.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 2:30 pmHR is like playing D&D with that smug old dick that's been playing since the early 80s - Complete with a 'I'm better than you' look, crossed arms, and repeated attempts to kill you and make you upset on purpose because 'Dammit that's how things worked back in my day, player vs. DM'

Really bugs me that this is all Vecna has to contribute at this point.

This is brilliant. You’re a poet.DemonRHK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 2:30 pmHR is like playing D&D with that smug old dick that's been playing since the early 80s - Complete with a 'I'm better than you' look, crossed arms, and repeated attempts to kill you and make you upset on purpose because 'Dammit that's how things worked back in my day, player vs. DM'

I disagree with the last line. But otherwise, a poet.
For the last line, the key to winning is to teach your bridge partners how to play in a partnership. The goal is to trust that your partner is always trying their best to win. Even when they screw up. And not to tank the game just to teach them a lesson. You win the post mortem either way.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
So when I started reading this I was feeling like Bob was going a little over-the-top on parroting my reaction to Ezio's shenanigans, since I'd basically just said that same conclusion, and was worried that he doesn't have his own thoughts and is actually just repeating what others are saying. But I think the high-horse tone is unlikely to come from scum, so I'm gonna keep assuming we're just really on the same page this game.BobMcBob wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 9:10 amOkay then ezio, welcome to my people who make me want to bash my head (or theirs) against a wall but that I'm slightly townleaning. Population 1.
I think you absolutely have your head up your overinflated ego, or are doing a very good job feigning anger and arrogance, but your response seems somewhat more townie than scummy.
That said, I think you have too much confidence in us to think through all motivations before pointing out an outright lie by someone. Because lies are usually scum motivated, town has little reason to lie.
Just because people responded in by far the most likely way (not all outcomes are equally likely you know) doesn't mean you have any right to get mad at everyone for playing in a way that you believe to be suboptimal and then subsequently assume that the whole game revolves around you and that everyone who voted you is scum because all scum would obviously vote as one to try and crucify someone over a lie that no town would be stupid enough to believe. You seem to be assuming town would all act optimally and all scum are complete morons who would all jump on the same flashwagon. That's not how this game works.
So how about when you're awake and sober you stop pretending you played perfectly and come join us in the real world.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
No, it actually is impossible. There is no way that HR could have any information that indicates I am scum. I am not telling everything that I know but I promise I am right.Macca573 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:39 amIt's not impossible (as I've described earlier), it just requires an earlier lie (about discards) or he's an alien. Either way, your indignation is stunning. As in, I'm stunned that you care so much about it. It seems almost faked. Almost.kgray wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:05 amIn case we make it to the next vote and HR is still alive, I want to emphasize that there is no possible way that HR could have any information on me that would confirm me as scum, regardless of if there's a psychotrooper. It is literally impossible that HR has this information. Do not let him live past the next vote.
Also, "regardless of psycotrooper"? Ignoring it, all he needs is a scan? What do you know?
I don't know why you're surprised that I care about someone (especially someone who is generally regarded as "good") is making up lies to try to get me scumread or killed or whatever. Of course I care about that.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
It is kinda personal lol. HR is a smart dude and although we've clashed before because we didn't understand each other, this is different because I actually know that I'm right and that he can't possibly even *think* he's right. I know that he knows that he's lying.

Sorry, not a Bridge player. I play Euchre. I tell my partner to pick it up, go alone, drop both bars and the ace on trump with A-K off and revel in my 4 points.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:23 pmThis is brilliant. Not *everyone* is sure, but I am.Macca573 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:45 amI still townread you kgray, but "lying scumbucket" seems very scummy to me. It's aggressive in the wrong places.
Also, how is everyone so sure HR doesn't have a scan? Did I miss something?

Demon, what do you suspect we'd have revealed if your three suggested kills go through?
