What I found most notable about HB last game was that he felt 'off' from almost the very start, though. The potential coppiness obviously hid that for a while (and it made perfect sense that he'd feel off as a PR too, so I was happy to accept that explanation), but I got a feeling very on that HB wasn't his usual self, and as soon as he wasn't the Cop then it was clear that he had to be scum. I don't get that feeling at all this game, so I'm feeling pretty good about HB being town presently.

Do you know what it was that made him feel "off" to you? I'm noticing a distinct lack of questions, which I normally associate with town!Hamilton, but at the same time I don't think he seems uncomfortable.

Not really, it's hard to remember because after the EoD2 brain-vote I parked HB as guaranteed cop for a couple of nights, and then of course when he didn't die he just morphed into guaranteed scum, so remembering exactly what was triggering me in the early game isn't all that easy. Although going by my EoN1 read:

"Hamilton Brian - I don't think I've ever noticed HB less than I have in this game, which is somewhat jarring and not a good thing. Slight scum who definitely needs to be looked into more."

The complete lack of presence makes sense for why I'd have got a pretty early bad feeling there, and also why I don't feel like that this time around.

Right, so I went back through all their recent games. The recent town games had a lot of slips. And then needed it spelled out how they were even slips.

The scum games had not a lot. And something weird about hammering jamie d1 while he slept? It was weird and jokey.

In their scum game with me, Macca trolled a lot D1. I'm not seeing that nervous, nothing-else-to-say-so-I-better-joke-around energy here. Are you seeing something weird and jokey?

And what would they even be slipping about here? In the game you're talking about, bozo specifically asked people what they'd pick as scum, and Macca answered (yes, with slips). But what would they even be talking about here that would cause them to slip?

We've been talking mechanics and picking roles...and they were nothing but correct with regards to the more than half their posts about damo's error.

The rest of their posts were joking around with Bob about lion and poultry, congratulating ghug on a limmerick, and saying Hi.

1) kgray declines to answer suggests she has something to hide
a) She chose scum
b) She chose PR

So if you chose scum, you're delaying your answer to figure out what is safe to claim.

If you chose PR, you could just claim you tossed VT.

this is not the case.

What about DemonRHK do you find to be particularly townie? His entrance was awkward and defensive and since then he's focused almost entirely on mechanics, so I get the total opposite feeling there

I've noticed his posts quite a lot, so yes. A strong presence and a strong player are not the same thing

demonrhk has been pretty solidly town. the pushes by jasnah are bizarre, and she keeps bringing up vecna as if vecna is her mentor

I was hoping she would post about why demon is scum in more detail, but nothing.

To clarify he does not seem towny. Last game he had an insight on a conversation that I liked. I have not seen that this game yet.

To clarify further ,he seems into mechs more than I remember.
Meat being the solve and trying to figure out alignments, but maybe I am misinterpreting his last post.
