Ah yes, University College, known as "Castle" because it is actually a castle. It's fun for American students to come an study at Durham and live in buildings that are significantly older than their country. (Durham Castle, the central building of University College, was constructed in the 1070's).damo666 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 4:52 pmI can't really remember the names but I do remember Colpitts. Basic, cheap and proper boozer.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 4:45 pmReally? Which ones do you remember with fondness? Obviously no pub at the moment due to lockdown, but my "local" is the Angel Inn, and I also tend to spend a bit of time in the Olde Elm Tree, the Head of Steam, and the Colpitts.
My stepdaughter did Physics at Castle. That's the reason.
The Colpitts is a fantastic example of a proper old fashioned boozer, absolutely. And not a fabricated theme-pub version of one, but the genuine original article. Open fireplaces, plain wooden floors, a small separate lounge (with carpet!), and nothing fancy. No food, only beers, spirits, and a few token soft drinks. If you're hungry it's crisps or nuts. A pool table and a dartboard in a separate room; no bandit. A real proper old pub where you go for beer and conversation.
I only avoid the Colpitts when I'm in the middle of a Mafia game because using your smartphone in the public bar (not just *at* the bar, but in the whole room) is against the rules of the pub, which prevents checking the game.

Isn't that what old women try to do try to do after the bingo's finished?

Votes Day 3
------------
brainbomb (15): damo666*, Donny Dude, Bonatogether*, Hellenic Riot*, celaph, aarodactyl*, rdrivera2005*, President Eden*, Chaqa*, Fluminator, bozotheclown, Jamiet99uk, Hamilton Brian, worcej*, e.m.c^42*
Aarodactyl (1): brainbomb*
Fluminator (1): BunnyGo
(I added back in brain's vote for me because the bot messed up and doesn't include him anymore for D3)
Votes Day 4
------------
Hamilton Brian (10): Hellenic Riot, BunnyGo, worcej, Donny Dude, bozotheclown, damo666, President Eden, e.m.c^42, aarodactyl, Jamiet99uk

- D1 and D2 are where good VCA exist. D4 is okay, but imo the people who were late to HB are the ones that most likely bussed him and not the people who did it early.
- Bona strikes me as the scum team's play to save ghug, thus leading me to believe he is town. I don't see a situation where the majority of the scum team would be consolidated on one of their own that close to EOD.
- Eden and HR look bad for D1 and D2, however my feelings on posting intent lead me to believe Eden is pushing a narrative whereas HR has been focusing on the things in front of him.
- Eden was off HB until 9 minutes was left and made it 8-6-1 at the time. His vote wasn't deciding by any means.
- I am of the 'the scum team are floundering' mindset currently. However, included in this is my thoughts that Eden is one of the remaining scum because he is trying to push this narrative of intentional scum actions in regards to HB when the optimum scum play with a 'caught' HB was to put in the fact reads/effort to get a CC, eliminating the cop once the CC came through.

Re: MAFIA 63: THE SCOURGE [HIDDEN]
The Angel is somewhat of a rock/metal/punk pub yes. It has a mixed crowd of goths, punks, young 'uns, and occasional academics. It's a scruffy pub but it has a real community. My favourite pubs are always dives with community and character and life. The Angel has been my second home for about 15 years, I'm normally in there two evenings a week, plus Saturday or Sunday afternoon, and I'm currently missing it horribly.

How the fuck do either of us look bad for Day 1 when from your perspective there were never any mafia on the block? Are you mafia?worcej wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 5:37 pmMy notes from this:aarodactyl wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 4:20 am@bunny here's the final votes

Also my vote on Brian was literally deciding - it was the 8th vote out of 15.

Re: MAFIA 63: THE SCOURGE [HIDDEN]
No it isn't. I have a VT PM and I have put several times more effort into solving this game than I have or would ever put into faking that solving effort as mafia. And my vote was the 8th of 15 on Brian, and put him into the lead with a majority for the first time.damo666 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 6:10 pmThat's a silly statement.President Eden wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 6:02 pmAlso my vote on Brian was literally deciding - it was the 8th vote out of 15.

What's silly is the only major unknown from Day 1 claiming that my voting for a townie makes me look bad. That only works if said unknown is mafia.

Yes? I've been pretty open about not being the Cop or Doctor.damo666 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 6:34 pmHmmm.President Eden wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 6:16 pmNo it isn't. I know Eden the best of anyone here and I'm pretty sure he's town.

FWIW I'm fairly sure you are town but it is not CERTAIN but posts like these are not great for town.

I am really annoyed that I am getting shaded for what amounts to people apparently not liking my playstyle and not whether I am actually mafia. Especially when objectively I have put a ridiculous amount of time into trying to solve this game.
worcej's is particularly egregious, as he is shading me for my D1 vote for Maniac, when the alternative wagon was him.

If there isn't an innocent scan on EMC revealed tomorrow, I think he is the next wagon. Still pretty sure he's scum.
