To be fair: Jaime started his stuff in a game when he was town.aarodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:14 pmAlso now that I've caught up, I'm going to ##vote maniac
The rules thing smells like scum to me (except rule 3, which I also endorse). It reminds me of what Jamie did last game to lower post count. And in general, establishing rules to allow yourself to lurk feels very scummy.

Not sure if we can actually attribute his mood changes to alignment anymore, since they seem to be mainly related to RL reasons.Durga wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 2:19 pmIs this town!Jamie or scum!Jamie who now knows he needs to be more uptight?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:29 pmBozo if you post in stupid light colours I am not going to read your posts. I will react to you as though I have you muted. I use normal mode and not dark mode and I can't be arsed with your shit today.

I don't remember the other Maniac rules, but for day 1, I kind of like the "read the last 4 pages" component.
Not sure it's indicative enough to land a vote. I read their rules as rather NAI.
I've got to go back and re-read PE's screed about Chaqa though. I got the sense that it was a very strong, "I will NOT let Chaqa be killed."

I said at some point that I'm playing off of one game's worth of data which is probably worse than having no data.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:30 pmTo be fair: Jaime started his stuff in a game when he was town.aarodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:14 pmAlso now that I've caught up, I'm going to ##vote maniac

Chaqa does take rather great care to maintain his aura of idiocy, but that's mainly coz when he's stoned it's true. Lmao
No matter what you say he'll prolly claim that he wouldn't if it involves effort.
Re: MAFIA 63: THE SCOURGE
Speaking of Chaqa, I didn't get my traditional D1 vote from you, did something happen. What gives :(
fwiw oddly enough this does make me read him tiny town points.

The tldr is I played a lot of Among Us with Chaqa the last 3 weeks and got to understand his style of play in these types of games in a way basically nobody in here can claim (Bona and Vecna being closest), and this doesn't fit his impostor/mafia profile. He memes but he never intentionally throws, and the request to be voted out is an intentional throw if he's mafia, but not necessarily if he is town.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:40 pmI don't remember the other Maniac rules, but for day 1, I kind of like the "read the last 4 pages" component.

Asking to be voted out here, given the big cloud of suspicion on him carrying over from the last two games, is tantamount to suicide - there's plenty of people that would oblige because they know they can't actually sort him, so it would appease their massive egos to have a baked-in excuse to throw him out and be able to blame him later if he's town. There's no mafia motivation where that makes sense because his hypothetical partners would get zero credit for killing a mafia literally asking to be daykilled. There's some town motivation if he just has little faith in his ability to be a helpful solver and is worried that lingering suspicion will make him an issue for town.
The other thing is that I think he genuinely doesn't really want to play this particular game all that much, it coming off the heels of the last one, but I don't think he would let his mafia team down by throwing. He might peace out as town, but he enjoys pulling one over on people who underestimate him, and he always feels bad about screwing over a mafia or impostor teammate.

** I forgot about emc above, I would yield to emc's contradicting read but basically nobody else's.

Ok I'm starting to believe you actually believe it, but it's still garbage.President Eden wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 9:52 pmThe tldr is I played a lot of Among Us with Chaqa the last 3 weeks and got to understand his style of play in these types of games in a way basically nobody in here can claim (Bona and Vecna being closest), and this doesn't fit his impostor/mafia profile. This is the towniest post from Ghug until now.ghug wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:39 pmI don't believe you think that saying you're happy to be a wagon early day one amounts to game throwing. That is an action that is very unlikely to actually get someone killed.President Eden wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:34 pmThanks for sharing but I mean what I say here. There's a method to Chaqa's play that y'all have collectively misunderstood for a couple months now. I've had the benefit of a ton of games of Among Us with him to feel out his style in these social deduction types of games. He'll coast, he'll openly ignore what the player base thinks is optimal play, but he'll never outright throw a game. I am convinced that the only way he would be asking people to daykill him is as some kind of wild gambit to draw a read exactly like this from someone like me that would try to give him the benefit of the doubt, but after the last two games I can't imagine that going over well.
Whatever you think of Chaqa, the way he plays mafia as town is anti-town. It really only serves to make his scum game easier. Thus he's not worth keeping around.
