HR hears the faint sound of metal touching metal as the killer, in nearly perfect silence, unlocks the door. HR can only barely make out the figure of a silhouette in the dark.

“I’m a priest of Marx,” HR says calmly. “You won’t dare kill a holy man.”

The killer chuckles. “Yeah, that’s what your doppelganger said. That was a nice trick.”

HR hears a faint click as the killer’s arm rises to eye level.

“Eden sends his regards.”

HR dives out of the chair at the last instant, and the bullet strikes his chest instead of his head. The killer jumps back in alarm and flees as HR falls to the ground. The killer just manages to slip away from the guards.

Following the guards is a priest of Marx!

“Ha… told you he wouldn’t kill a holy man.” HR grins, then coughs up blood.

“You’ve done well,” says the priest. “More than your fair share for the revolution, comrade.”

“Thanks.” HR grimaces. “The killer messed up… but it’s still looking bad for me.”

“I don’t know what we can do for you in this life,” responds the priest, “but we can help you get ready for the next.”
