Re: Announcing the 2021 WebDip World Cup!
Now that all Group B games have been joined, I am just doing a quick check to see if any teams have violated the "don't draw the same country 3 times" rule.
We're still waiting on two players to join the final Group A games to get Group A started. The captains of those teams should have their subs join the games if their preferred player does not join today.

Is it acceptable to discuss our games with other members of our team if we wish to do so?

Is there going to be an update that shows who the participants are that are in each of the games and from what teams?

Re: Announcing the 2021 WebDip World Cup!
Hi all,
So apparently the new google sites has gotten rid of both tables and HTML editing, so I'm really unsure of how to display scoring here. Apologies for the delay, but I'm just trying to figure out how best to do things from here.
Best,
Gold

Okay! Tourney site is updated, and links to games are up. For the internal tournament site, I'm still toying with how to display scores in a coherent fashion. But A nice table is now available on

The google sheet at the bottom hasn't been published, so we can't view it.

Cheesesteaks lost the 1v1 game, the 20 points should be for Edible SCs', I think.goldfinger0303 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:25 pmGood catch, try againBonatogether wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 6:52 pmThe google sheet at the bottom hasn't been published, so we can't view it.

Re: Announcing the 2021 WebDip World Cup!
Two questions:
1. When does the 2nd gunboat game start? It seems to me that after the 1st has gone on for a few weeks the next should start up that way everyone isn't waiting for the 2nd game to finish.
2. Are gunboats scored the same as the full press games? I think they are just wanted to double check.

Re: Announcing the 2021 WebDip World Cup!
I typically start the 2nd Gunboat 3 weeks after the first. In my experience they tend to wrap up quicker than the press, so in every round I can remember GB2 has ended before all the press games finish. We'll be looking at a start time first week of January for GB2.umbletheheep wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 6:13 pmTwo questions:

Gunboated are scored the same as full press games, but points are halved. So whereas a full press solo is 438 points, a GB solo is 219.

I appreciate the notice that the tournament will pause Dec 23. I assume though that NMR's before then will be charged as usual?

That is correct. And if teams want to unpause their 1v1s before Jan 1st, they can see if their opponent will agree. But I will be pausing all those as well

Is there a NZ team anywhere?
I missed sign ups, but I still want to cheer for/engage with my home team.

There's a few Aussie teams, but no Kiwis. You can check via the link to the external tournament site.
Also, hi everyone! Happy new year. I'll be unpausing in roughly 18 hours or so, to give people the morning off :)
