My thought was that if his answer was that he didn't realize Jamie's flip, it was plausibly faked, and if he thought all mafia were goons or something like that, that it was a legit townslip. Now I'm unsure, so I think I have to default to the former.

I think someone faking a townslip would be better prepared to escape their logic, which makes this a dumbslip, and I think scum is more likely to have the word "goon" on the mind and understand its context.

I reread the whole conversation, and yes, I did say that I was using it as a general term for bad guy, and then I said that he was goon. However, is it contradictory for me to refer to him as a goon in the general sense while also thinking that he is a goon in the generic mafia sense?

If I were scum, why would I try and fake this? Why would I try and claim that Jamie was a goon when it says that he's the roleblocker.
