But no, it's not a gimmick. I'm honestly playing this game as best I can, and I just got a PM from the GM that he's trying to figure out how to respond.

Look, the GM just confirmed the situation, so now fine. But the statement is "play to win". And I have broken no rules, told no lies, and worked to help my team win. Anything less would have been disrespectful. I've played bridge hands where I've already won the hand, but it wasn't technically over for all the players at the table (advanced players who track every card would have known that everyone knew all the cards and how to play them, but my opponents didn't). So I kept playing to win more. Doing less would be disrespectful to them there to play. It would be insulting to not try, and to take away their decisions and say "We know what's up. We don't need the practice." (something literally said to my partner when we were learning).

So no. I'll *always* make every play I can to help my team. And when I flip jailor tomorrow, you'll see I tried my hardest to help town. And if the GM posts any other role, then I guess I'll just have to post my role PM in the god thread.

It's the same reason this very site doesn't allow blaming the software or moderators for misorders as a negotiation tactic. It's also not much better than posting direct communication from the GM in game, in that it can cause game adjacent mechanical realities to reveal information.

If this were bridge, I'd agree with you. It's not. The rules are clearly delineated. And all of us except some who purposely flaunt it have read them. I've obeyed them all. Rule 6: Forbidden from cheating. Rule 7: *required* to play to win. I win with my team. I am *required* to help my team win, and anything I do that is not cheating or otherwise breaking the rules that advances that is explicitly mandated. Not optional. Not suggested. Anything less breaks rule 7.

So no, while I realize town needs to have this miskill to move forward, I'll do my best to avoid it. Especially with the flip of worcej which suggests I was really due a VT PM. I figure the GMs would have noticed by now if the scum chat were 1 person short.

And if you think that these posts aren't helping town win...well, then maybe I am violating rule 7.

The Kommunist Kouncil can change the rules as they wish. Getting people to reveal information is the entirety of this game. Aaro knows my background enough to know that I take information security fairly seriously.
