The haze is back. Streets flooded just last night with the beautiful light of the bright full moon now hide amidst the ash and dust of yet another night on the wastes.

“I’m so sick of these nukestorms,” mutters the young hero of the revolution, reaching for more ammo.

Haze and dust isn’t all that clouds the hero’s heart. The dysfunction at the end of the previous day weighs heavily on their mind. I can’t believe they killed brainbomb. And they let fascists get away!

The gun clicked as the hero chambers a round. I won’t.

A shot suddenly pierces the night. It’s close. They’ve struck again!

Two silhouettes barely stand out among the ash and dust. One figure stands, frozen, over the other, lying crumpled on the ground. He sees me!

The second shot rings out. The standing figure joins its fallen friend.

The hero quickly searches them for identification, before anyone else shows up. They’re both communists!
