No it's not, the best argument in my favor is that I'm actually trying to solve this game.

I think comparing you this game to last game should make your towniness clear, but you're also a good enough player to adjust your meta accordingly, so... not completely off the hook, but I think you definitely seem more townie than scummy.

As I said I would do, I have now taken the time to carry out a full re-read of Maniac's D1 performance.

Enters at p.36 saying he hasn't read anything and naked votes Ghug. He says he had forgotten Brainbomb would be in this game, and makes fish jokes. Then he immediately moves his vote to Brainbomb.

Spends several posts making fun of Bonatogether's name, and votes for Bonatogether (p.37) at Fluminator's suggestion (Fluminator at this point was promoting the idea of voting for newbies to see how they reacted to the pressure, or something).

After shitposting about Thanksgiving, he votes Teacon, ostensibly for using the word "Crown".

On page 39 he says he's read only up to page 17. Talks about the +1 rule and claims he isn't aware +1's are now allowed.

Disappears until p.48, insults BunnyGo, acts friendly to Brainbomb, and talks about the +1 rule some more.

Joins the ND wagon on p.50 without giving any partiular reason and despite never having mentioned ND whatsoever before casting this vote. ND is the lead wagon by one vote at this point, which Maniac's vote solidifies to a +2 lead.

After a ten page absence, Maniac reappears (p/60) and moves his vote to Damo666, for the same thing that I called out at the time - Damo assuming I would "obvtown" in the future (leaves ND still in the lead). Just after casting this vote he tells Neph he's willing to move to Ghug (though he never does).

Calls Fluminator a liar (about whether Maniac "always" gets daykilled). Fluminator quickly responds with a rather joke-y response (p.63/64) which Maniac appears to accept.

His last post is on p.89 a couple of hours before EoD. He speculates that ND and Durga are both scum and their argument is scum theatre. He moves from voting Damo to joining a Durga wagon Damo that Damo had recently started. Apparently goes offline at that point. At the time Maniac last posts in D1, only Brainbomb is voting for him.

During Maniac's apparent absence, a Maniac wagon appears, which is briefly tied for the lead with the ND / Teacon wagons. The Maniac wagon drops to third after Brainbomb moves from Maniac to ND in the closing stages.

Finally, a minute from EoD, Damo moves his vote from Durga to Maniac.

OBSERVATIONS:

- Maniac made several posts about whether +1's were allowed or not, initially indicating that he thought +1-ing was not allowed, and then talking about it some more a little later. Tinfoil theory time - did a member of the scumteam come up with a plan to use +1s to communicate, and did Maniac want to distance himself from this behaviour?

- It seems strange that Maniac went from scumreading Damo and voting for Damo, to joining a Durga wagon that Damo had started. Damo moving from that Durga wagon onto Maniac right at the end, when Maniac was no longer likely to be daykilled, looks even more suspect in this context.

- Brainbomb started the Maniac wagon and stayed on it for quite a long time, yet his move OFF Maniac was a key factor in ensuring it was not Maniac but ND who was daykilled.

I am going to keep Maniac as a SCUMLEAN at the moment.

Note 1. I am going offline for at least three hours after this post, I'll try to be back on a good hour or so before EoD. I still want to hang Bozo but would also be happy with Yoyo, EMC, Maniac, Vashta or Chaqa. Brainbomb might also be an interesting flip. He's been weirder today than he was at the start.

Note 2. I purport that the word Vecna is thinking of was "Purport", not "Posit".

Note 3. The potential presence of a Co-ordinator is not the same as Mafia having daychat. Daychat is when they can all talk in the Mafia QT during the day, whereas the Co-ordinator, according to the PM, is a role which gets to post in the Mafia QT in the day, but does not enable the other Fascists to do the same.

Yeah I think the difference I'm seeing in Hamilton is that he's not laying out as much of his train of thought. And in previous town games it's almost like he's asking for direction from people, trying to use other people's thoughts to help form his reads. This game he tends to ask people more direct questions and I'm not seeing that connect with his reads at all.

D1 bozo decides to put a vote on Jamie because bo subbed out - which is perfectly within the realm of town!bozo things to do, but is a pretty terribad and unconvincing argument to most people.

If you think bozo is scum, you then have to believe that his scum partner, teacon, thought "yeah that seems like a convincing enough way to fake a read and justify a vote" and followed bozo's reasoning and vote onto Jamie.

I don't think most people would follow their scumbuddies like that.

I am way off then, and that breaks my heart. See, where I was beginning to strongly read Brain as town (the big nightread was a key selling feature), it made me do a reread of Balki, who I had considered as scummy. I began to come around to them as town.
