11. Excuse me? I didn't mention you at all in the post you're quoting.
You must be assuming that I town-read you because of my response to Bozo's vote for you at the start of the phase, would that be correct?
Yes, and because you said that you townread me at EON without ever mentioning a read of me beforehand.

Re: M62: PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF REVOLUTIONARY MAFIA GAME THREAD!
12. Fair question then, sorry. I suppose I am more inclined to explain my scumreads in detail, than my townreads, as I focus on who I *want* to see votes for, rather than who I'm *not* interested in voting for. This is probably a bad habit since sorting people into the "town" column does of course helpfully narrow down the suspect pool.kgray wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 9:32 pmI'm aware. Yes, and because you said that you townread me at EON without ever mentioning a read of me beforehand.
I suppose my feeling that you're town came along during the night phase - I really wasn't sure on you during D1 as I find you hard to read (as you learned to your benefit and my detriment in the last game!). I think that the way you reacted to ND's attitude seemed quite natural, I think perhaps that if you were scum you would have gritted your teeth and tried to engage more neutrally with ND even while he was being toxic and perhaps slightly sexist towards both yourself and Durga. Reflecting further, I still haven't got a strong meta read on you and you have this talent of having a "Kgray style" irrespective of alignment - but you're not afraid to ask questions, you're not afraid to be out front and centre, you're not afraid to push people for answers, and I think you are genuinely scumhunting.

Re: M62: PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF REVOLUTIONARY MAFIA GAME THREAD!
Any feeling on Maniac's post viewtopic.php?p=193384#p193384 where they speculate that Durga is scum and used the unpopularity of ND to get ND killed?
Given Maniac's contributions on Day 1, because there really wasn't much that consisted of heft, that's probably the most salacious post they put out that day. Is that scum putting out something to give the appearance of relevance and "I'm trying?"

And as I was going back over Day 1 material, Durga insinuated that defending ND would be considered scum-motivated. In hindsight, might the opposite in fact be true? Championing ND's elimination was scum-motivated?

I'm rereading teacon's ISO and I. gotta say between his prudishness on swearing, his defenses of manifest destiny, and his criticism of gender neutral pronouns, we probably should have realized he wasn't a communist.

I agree that you can't get a read on Yoyo, but what I meant is that you haven't scumread anyone and you're voting? It's D2 and you think no one seems sus?celaph wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:03 pmWhat additional read do you want/expect on my Yoyo vote? I can't read them if they don't talk. For the HB vote I agree that I could have been more forthcoming in my explanation. HB challenged me on it and I've now responded to that.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 7:11 pmI'm a couple pages behind, but celaph is voting without putting out any reads? He's put out a few half hearted posts (2709/136, 2726/137) asking why someone is voting the way they are, and not followed up on them - I don't believe anyone ever responded to them, but I might be wrong there.dargorygel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 3:15 pmVote Count 62.2.01 (a more boring form than Eden's)

Conclusions on teacon other than disliking his out of game opinions:
- Has he done that aggressively friendly noob questioning before? I tend to agree that it seems like a nice way to give a teammate an easy landing, but I know some of us (like me) just do it.
-He votes Neph's opinion on ND at one point, saying he agrees with it fully as a pretense to make a post about how he's too good to talk about politics while intimating clearly that he hates poor people. Town points for Neph. I don't think you parrot a teammate that openly.
-A couple posts telling brain not to provoke ND. I could go either way on it, but I think it probably pushes brain closet to the middle for me.
-He pushed damo on questioning Durga for not knowing how many scum there were but not HB for something similar. Good for damo, good for Durga, makes an HB/damo pair seem especially unlikely.
-I'd forgotten the bit where he jumped on HR for voting emc as if he hadn't given justification. I kinda think that makes HR and emc more likely to be town.
-He defended Durga repeatedly on the not reading the setup, so maybe undo the "good for Durga" from a few points ago.
-Bought Bozo's argument for voting for Jamie. Town points for bozo. I could see him voting a teammate like this, so no points for Jamie.
-The big EON post lists damo, HB, and Balki as scum. I bet there is a scum in here, (especially because two of them helped him survive D1). The real list will probably be useful later. When scum divide people into groups, they usually spread their teammates out.

-I think this post reflects well on Vecna and emc, because he's staking out townreads and buddying, and I imagine there's probably scum in one of the other groups (HB being a group of his own) that he references, since those questions are such empty softballs.teacon7 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 6:50 pmgeneral thoughts, since I'm finally caught up to the present and gonna head out for a while this evening:
The first half of d1 is always nonsense, exacerbated this time around by thanksgiving parties and the like. NAI.
Balki et al made general "hey calm down" posts - all of which seem sensible. Half the players want to scheisspost for all of D1, the other half doesn't really want to play until D1 is over because shennanigans. Toxicity does not help town. Can we tone it down? It'll allow more rational thought and less anger-driven flailing. (Same applies for election politics, about which I'm fairly salty rn, so none of this is new).
Vecna looking towny, primarily for the engagement when he was catching up. The first sober voice in 20 pages.
@HB: do you actually scumread kgray? Why or why not? do you think she'd be a good daykill today?
@bozo/yoyo/vash - when are you planning on reading and posting more? what do each of you, individually, think of worcej so far?
@celaph @bona did you see my questions?
@vecna @emc - I can only recall worcej as a GM, and not a player. Is he usually like this? why do you have the read you do on him right now?
-He votes Neph's opinion on ND at one point, saying he agrees with it fully as a pretense to make a post about how he's too good to talk about politics while intimating clearly that he hates poor people. Town points for Neph. I don't think you parrot a teammate that openly.
-This was the end of a big post to ND. It's another prod on Vash to engage, and a process-based defense against killing him. I still think Vash is one of the more plausible bussers.I think you're on to something w.r.t vash's meta, but there's problems. Eliminating a lurker D1 is not a productive course of action. Talking about it could be productive, but ultimately you don't get enough info from a D1 lurker kill.
@vash - any thoughts on what ND said?

Yes, I was considering that. I'm glad they made that list. If I do get killed, and I will flip town, what will you think of Damo and Balki then?ghug wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 10:38 pm

By your earlier hypothesis, where you suggested a damo/HB pairing unlikely, would you move off of brainbomb and onto Balki, if I can obvtown, obviously?

So, to summarize my thoughts (mostly for me).
Town pool I won't vote today (below the line is weaker,. otherwise it's alphabetical):
Bunny
Neph
Celaph
Chaqa
Vecna
Bozo
Kgray
emc
-------------
Vash (again I think the teacon vote buys him a day or two, but that's it)
HR (too much respect for HR to strong town him for teacon's death, but signs are good)
Worcej (I liked his push on me, but that's not the hardest thing to fake)
Jamie (I think teacon's flip makes him look marginally worse, but I'm still getting town vibes)
Durga (was higher but she's being useless and teacon defended her)
The following are non-townreads who I don't want to kill yet because they're good (least to most scummy):
Balki
Damo
Flum
The remaining six, in eagerness to vote order:
Bona
Maniac
