What do you expect will be the hardest part about finding scum in a forum game instead of a live game?
How do you scumhunt in live games, and is that adaptable to this format?

I haven’t read any of the games here. I’ve debated doing it in the past but it seems like it would take a long time given all the volume.

I’m a little concerned about different players blurring together, since I don’t have people to associate them with. Also the sheer volume of posts is going to make figuring out signals hard.

To be honest, I’m not great a hard reads so I usually like to try to think about reads in terms of roles in live games.

So, when I subbed into the game and said I hadn't had a role PM, you instantly hit upon a theory that if I was town, I would immediately quote a line from the Vanilla Town role PM (irrespective of my actual town role), whereas if I was scum, I would immediately quote something from the Fascist Goon role PM.

This is genuinely what you predicted I would do?

Can you elaborate on your reads of EMC and BB? Also, why will you later retract the BB read?

When EMC is town, he will always have the super nuanced small little commentary that hits right on the mark. It shows a very accurate and detailed thought process that he then puts forward in a very subtle small post that speaks a thousand words. In this particular case it showed the duality in how he viewed a particular event (the event being Worcej's defense and process leading up to him going semi-hulk-mode). I quoted the particular post.

When I recognize those thoughts I always locktown him. I dont think ive been wrong yet? Maybe once when he was 3p, but then I shouldve known there was a 3p role and he obviously wouldve randomed that.

If someone who is not being an idiot would care to look back at a sample of my games, they would notice that as town, I often open with greetings to my Fellow Townsfolk. On the other hand, as scum, I often open with greetings to my Fellow Townspersons.

In this game I merely amended "Townsfolk" to "Communists" due to the fun flavour.

I have pretty low expectations in vash. ND is the one saying to do a research project on past vash mafia games. I dont even recall a game where vash was scum. Actually the only vash games I even remember is when vecna shot him, and when he was the bomb vs us and yoyo died killing him in m17.

I will talk about him. Ill talk about as many people as I can. That being said ghug is not wrong, if I were scum with vash id be paranoid that hes lurking too much. Im more curious if ND is just throwing dung at the wall
