Re: M61 - The Mastermind's Revenge - Game Thread
As indicated on the 'singup' thread I am off on a mini break for a few days so I will be fairly inactive over the next few days. I will endeavour to keep up, comply with minimum posting criteria and vote. However, I won't be into long or frequent contribution nor heavy analysis.
Please don't use my inactivity as an excuse to dk me!
Will be back to normal on Tuesday.
Thanks.

I had too many roles? I thought I'd done too little...bozotheclown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 7:48 amFor my survey question, since the mafia obviously knew what they decided, I thought there were a few things they might do:
1. indicate they had not thought about it and/or give a not thought out answer
2. give a reasonable answer different than what they chose, which therefore might not be particularly optimal
3. ignore the question
Here are my opinions of the responses:

Macca's answer was not well thought out and had too many roles, as did their modified answer.Macca573 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:54 amI would probably go:bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:04 amApparently I was not clear, I would like everyone to please answer this question:
What would you have chosen if you were scum and were making the decision for the mafia?
Restless spirit
Odd-Night Tracker
Fruit vendor (the give the maf money? I think I read that somewhere?)
Double voter (provided the vote works more than once)
Frankly, the biggest reason is a don't like roles with limited uses, I'd be scared to use them until it's too late.
Important note, I did not do the math for this, I don't know how much debt it is, it may be bad.

Because with those choices it's a virtual autowin for town.Macca573 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 3:06 amWhy?damo666 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 3:21 pmI do hope you are scumMacca573 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:50 pm
90
Recruit (10)
Restless spirit (-25)
[those two are good, the rest I picked just to fill remaining space with minimal cost]
Fruit vendor (-24) [I thought I read somewhere that you could "sell fruit" or something; it was a source of income]
Neighborizer (-24) [cheap, and seems to do something]
Public Vanilla (-24) [also cheap, and it's not bad]
Voyeur (-26) [cheap]
A lot of this is just to get those first two, which, in my opinion, are the coolest.

I mean, it is kinda. But I had thought that the issue with the first guess was that there was 5 people, and I picked 4 roles. But apparently not?

There are 3 Mafia, or 4 if they choose to recruit. But if they recruit, the recruit gets a random role.Macca573 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 11:47 amI mean, it is kinda. But I had thought that the issue with the first guess was that there was 5 people, and I picked 4 roles. But apparently not?

Because based on your choices, Scum would be horribly in debt and would have to hand various assistances to town (bulletproof, no-NK, etc) just to avoid auto-loss later on.

Re: M61 - The Mastermind's Revenge - Game Thread
Darg's morning tinfoil hat.
webDipMaf has had a trend lately that scum hide among the low-posters. Jamie, for instance, has indicated his intention to vote primarily among the low-posters.
Looking at the bot's summary of yesterday, two players who might not normally be among D1's top-talkers had extensive conversations with each other. (Bo and ghug) But their actual content was fluffy. First, they had a haiku battle of ginger stuff. Which was entertaining, and it WAS a quasi joke (joiku?) phase...
But then this N they have been discussing kgray's odd comments. And yet they, while presenting argumentative arguments arguing about kgray's thoughts, motivations, and purpose in life. But actually, their argements do not really... ummm... go anywhere.
They are both often fear-killed. Low-posters are liable to early daykill. Would it be beyond these two to formulate this sort of fakery?
There IS a marked difference in their postings. One is more erudite. One is more often simply reactive. But what-if what-if what-if these two are putting on a show?
Add to that... Jaimie has not noted anything about low posters.
Something to put away for later rememberating...

@Jamie
I asked (I think) this before (I think) and I have not noticed (I think) an answer. Why no low-posting accusations in this game so far?

My orders have already been sent ....worcej wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 4:33 amAnother GM Note:
I will not be able to be around to process EON tomorrow and it will be Donny's first time, so have patience with the phase change.
If you want to be extra helpful to us, get your orders in earlier so I can help get him setup to process them while I am around.

Re: M61 - The Mastermind's Revenge - Game Thread
Finally catched up.
The runaway wagon on Flum make hard to get something from VCA. Teacon wasn't saved as his wagon wasn't going nowhere and if I was around I would have changed my vote to Jamiet.
Jamiet could have been saved, but I don't get this feeling. From his voters Teacon and Seth are on my scum reads.
I also don't like Bozo taking day chat for granted when analyzing Bo and HR answers for his query. It was his second mistake about mechanics which isn't something usual for him. If I have an investigative power I would use on him.

Rdrivera, is non-mechanic attention AI, though? In most other cases, we consider too much mechanics an indicator of scumminess. Wouldn't bozo-scum be MORE mechanical? Do you remember (or does anyone) what he has done as scum in the past?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2020 12:27 pm

You have a little over two hours left to cast your vote.
Chaqa, you could also try to, y'know, participate.
