On Day 1, you said this:ghug wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 11:38 pmI'm still feeling probably town, but the continued uselessness is weighing on me.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 11:26 pm@ghug,

"I don't like snowy, but I think his alignment will become clear in time. He's really bad at faking motivation as scum."
Do you think that's what is going on? I mean...he is just doing nothing...
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I don't know how exactly to put it into words, but it's slightly different this time. I see a l bit more thinking behind his posts on the occasions when he makes them.

Really?
I would like to see that. Can you help me see it?
I feel like he just joins the thread every once in a while to flip us all off.

Yes, but then he says things like he's actually thinking.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 11:53 pmReally?

Compare this game to this
http://mafia.peterlund.se/e/web/msgs?g=32&user=snowy801
You still get the uselessness and the "boys I have figured something out. Chaqa has inappropriate dreams involving his mother and an anteater." type posts, but everything else in this game is him sharing observations, whereas everything in that game is him trying to ask questions to look like he cares.
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I dunno, am I grasping at straws? Snowy can you start actually playing and obvsomething yourself please?

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I'm interested in the bolded above. You think his participation in this game is different than in the linked game where he was scum because in this game is is sharing observations? Observations about what?ghug wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 12:10 amYes, but then he says things like he's actually thinking.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 11:53 pmReally?

What has Snowy said in this game that makes it look like he is "actually thinking," compared to the linked game?
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Yes, people do scum slip. The problem isn't whether such incidents are in existence, but whether they are reliably distinguishable from town players saying which could just as plausibly be interpreted as a scum slip
not to mention I'm not even that confident Jamiet is scum
I wanted to go for other people but apparently today was just totally dead
at any rate, it is apparent that people are voting for me because it's easy and they're mad, not because anyone can actually believe that I'm scum
And then there are little things like repeated reads on Telemor and questioning Prado that betray some actual knowledge of the game state even if he's not sharing reasoning or being at all helpful.good morning. I make myself available to you until eod, barring minor errands
##vote jamiet99uk
It seems thoroughly implausible that town James would be satisfied by my one vaguely game relevant post regarding Ike, which was in all honesty meaningless
Far more likely that scum James realised that he dug himself in an unfavorable rhetorical hole and pounced on the earliest opportunity to jump ship

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Well then why did you say on Day 1 that Snowy’s alignment would become clear because he is bad at faking motivation as scum? You must agree with me that Snowy has displayed a remarkable absence of motivation in this game, right?ghug wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 12:35 amhttp://mafia.peterlund.se/e/web/msgs?g=31&user=snowy801
Here's snowy being lazy as town.
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Right, but he's spending what little time he applies giving the game a modicum of thought rather than trying to look like he cares at all.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I think Jamiet really thought Balki was soft claiming, because I had the same feeling. Of course he could still be scum with Ghug, but seems less likely.
##unvote by now, will try to do some reading later and in the morning. Now I have to study with my daughter.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I had two purposes. I was adding my voice to those who seemed concerned about Jamie's defensive and angry reaction to the recent conversation. And I was noting that Peter had an earlier 'bad' reaction to pressure, which I (and maybe others) had forgotten.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 10:11 pmWhat's your point here?dargorygel wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 9:52 pmJamiet's reaction to the discussion reminds me of Peter's. I forgot about Peter's reaction, until I see Jamiet's. Tense.

I HAVEN'T COMPLETE THE ISO YET. BUT I'M IN A CINEMA AND I'LL CONTINUE ISOING HIM AFTER THE CINEMA.
>I'm sure he forced himself to write this post - he is a professional player and he wouldn't do that if he was town.I don't like how everyone has just piled onto these wagons to start the day with minimal discussion.
>This message also sounds weird. Is he trying to seem like a doctor (especially if he knows he won't be roleblocked). Yes, this sounds very scummy. Because when I read that, I see a self-healing doctor. But I also think a self-healing doctor wouldn't declare himself.I mean, if they're gonna keep not roleblocking anyone as long as we leave him alive, I'm OK with that trade.
>He is being town here, though. He shows that he follow the thread carefully - he caught that DrC is contradicting with his own arguments.DrC, you think Jamie and snowy have matching alignments, and you think Jamie is town, but you're voting snowy? Who would you vote for if we were lynching outside of those two?
Odds are low of successfully blocking the self-save, but they're low of being successful with any rb, and blocking your I doesn't give town a semi-clear like actually blocking does.
>If Ike rolls town, I'm sure ghug is scum. If Ike is town, ghug (and the scumteam) left him to slander. It's not convenient, Ike. If you're somehow town, the mafia are fucking idiots and I thank them for leaving you to your powerful devices.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Ooh my first time as a wagon, I'm so excited! To answer at least one of the critiques of my scumishness copscan is not a difficult word to figure out. It was used before I said it, I understood it because it's a pretty simple compound word, and then applied it. If the metric for whether a person is scum consists solely of their ability to understand compound words I think the whole game may be scum.
So to contribute a bit to the town here's my lynch priority list:
1) Ike - as I've said before the longer town operates under Schrodinger's Ike while the Scum do not the less accurate our ability to read scum actions becomes.
2) Snowy, Balki, Tham, or Jamie - I'm aware there are those reading Jamie and Snowy as the same alignment but I'm unconvinced that scum would let two members become the lead wagons. That said if either Balki or Snowy flipped scum it seems likely the other would be too. The same stands for Balki and Tham. If Jamie flipped scum it would, at least to me, give snowy a townread.
3) The rest of you lot, I haven't given you lot as much consideration as I should but I'll try and fix that over the course of today.
