I think Durga ignored this so I will follow up. Based on my review of past games, ghug almost always votes for Durga early D1, so Durga questioning why ghug voted for her seems odd. In M33, ghug and Durga were scum teammates, ghug voted for Durga, and Durga's reaction was somewhat similar.

It was going to get suggested regardless by someone. A lie detector only has two shots and would get plenty of material to choose from.

The only people not complying have been drunk durga and people that havent posted.

Therefore, this has been one of the worst gamestarts ive encountered in quite some time for town, since scum had a way too easy time evading those awkward initial engagements.

Agree with Vecna here, both that it's NAI and that it highjacked the thread, but don't know what could have been done differently since it was suggested.

I think we need to move on.

Bozo idea isn't bad if everybody really post the hypos,but we need at least a good amount of people agreeing on it and also actually posting it close to EON for it work and not backfire. Not sure it's worth the risk

Definitely not worth the risk imo.

The Weak Doctor, if there is one, can basically get a cop scan in each night if he can make his reports available without giving himself away. I think the hypo claims would give him the best chance of sharing his reports without getting identified right away, maximizing the number of scans he can perform.

Oh, and @ghug: SarahK doesn't seem to ever really want to play. I wasn't even convinced her one post in the sign up thread was asking to join. I read it as "haha, I think you all hate me and so I'm going to post to remind you that I feel bad"

I hope she shows up and tries to play and has fun.

I just doubt she will.

Her only activity on this site in the last 3 months was to post "Anyone wanna count me in" in the signup thread 6 days ago, so I would be surprised if she shows up by EOD.

I think hypo Weak Doctor claims is a good idea. For the Bodyguard and Weak Doctor, it would be ideal for the hypo claims to be made at EON, but since that would limit participation, I think everyone claiming sometime during the night is still beneficial.

This just seems so tedious to try to accomplish. Especially since there are so many potential roles in this set up this could be a tool for scum to easily blend in without much risk of exposing themselves in more pointed conversations. If the weak doctor really is in play that would obviously be extremely helpful to get the confirmed scum from a save resulting in doctor death but maybe we should just leave it up to their discretion when they should actually claim?

The problem with this logic is that if the weak doctor does claim and tries to save mafia, they die, and we learn nothing from it besides the fact that they flipped weak doctor.

If everyone stated who they would save every night, if by chance the weak doctor hits mafia, We’ll have a good chance of who it is they hit (unless there’s a role active that’s able to mess it up. The added benefit is that this role doesn’t even have to participate, so the mafia can try all they want to weed out PRs, because the real PR could just not participate that night, or better yet simply lie about targetting someone and then just not doing it. In order for this to work, we would have to come up with a wording for everyone to use so that if there is a mafia aligned lie detector, they can’t get any information from these statements.

Now that I think about it more, this seems pretty convoluted, but it could be worth it. I’ll think about how it could work

My suggestion would be for everyone, during N1, to state who they would target if they were Desperado or Weak Doctor. For instance:

hypo claim targets:
Desperado: Vecna
Weak Doctor: ghug

After thinking more about the Bodyguard, if the Bodyguard deflected the kill to himself, there would be no way of knowing if he was the mafia NK target or if he redirected the NK, so I do not see any reason to claim Bodyguard targets.

It's well-established that you have no clue what you're talking about.

The problem is less that it's scum indicative to do so (though it can be) and more that it's not indicative of anything. The people excited to talk about mechanics are the people excited to talk about mechanics. Other than establishing things that everyone needs to be aware of (we could have all said "I am town" in a page and a half and been done with it), it's a waste of tone that makes it more difficult to glean information.

Nobody being particularly scummy but I have the following observations:

Bismarck needs to comply.

Bunny needs to explain his absence after the big entrance, also to a lesser extent summit.

Bo needs to turn up

Bozo, Durga, Flash, Fox, ghug, rdr, TrPrado and Vecna are all playing as per meta. Of these I townread Fox the most and Vecna/TrPrado the least but nothing major.

Seth, HB & HR seem Ok

Sarah absent thus far - no surprise there.

Yoyo I have the most doubts about. I sense a cageyness about the way he is posting.

Lets push Yoyo together. Why do HR/Seth/HB all seem ok though? How are they better than Bunny for example?

The fact that half of the people aren’t going to do it probably includes some of the PRs. If in fact none of the PRs do it, it would be a massive troll on mafia because they’re putting together pieces of a puzzle that don’t exist. The benefit to town is that we don’t really need to know who the PR are until it counts. It scrambles the game for mafia, while having the opportunity to provide town with info. There’s a piece of metagame that I figured out that I can’t say now but will be very useful later on if things go well.

This post feels massively not-mafia motivated though. Could be 3P, but this post feels majorly to go against what the mafia would try to accomplish, and I dont think they would be theorizing this part of the hypo
