You said it was accepted by "pretty much everyone".Octavious wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 5:09 pmAn anti Boris article in the leftie mouthpiece that is the New Statesman, and the Guardian reader's page, is what passes for convincing evidence these days? Oh deary deary me.
Keep believing your propaganda, mate. With delusion comes defeat, and long may it continue![]()

You're hilarious. You just make up the terms of the debate as you go along, to suit yourself.Octavious wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 7:07 pmNope, I mean pretty much everyone. The New Statesman is a pretty niche hard left publication, and a handful of Guardian readers are ultimately just a handful of Guardian readers. How many people buy these rags? 200,000? Fewer? Every one of them could blindly support you, and pretty much everyone is still left to think for themselves.

I am curious. I am not sure I would agree that Boris is a bad speaker (Boris deliberately tries to give off the disheveled eccentric uncle sort of vibes)..but do you not even follow the links to see their argument? Or do you say "since their political alignment disagrees with my own, everything they print must be rubbish and I can dismiss without any consideration"?Octavious wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:05 pmA quote about the outlook of the New Statesman:
- Jason Cowley, editor of the New Statesman since 2008Of the left, for the left
It was founded by Sidney and Beatrice Webb, who were members of the Fabian Society, the oldest and most famous left wing think tank in the country.
In the 90s the New Statesman acquired and subsumed the political magazine, Marxism Today. Now, I'll admit I've never actually read Marxism Today, but at a guess I'd say there's a good chance it had a little bit of a left wing feel.
But yeah, you'd have to be a raving right wing die hard to say that the New Statesman is a left wing publication![]()
