@thamrick,
Can you add detail to your thoughts on the Balki/Xorx interaction? What part of the interaction? Weird in what way? And what conclusions do you draw?

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
My current lynchpool is RagingIke, Xorxes, Bozo. But I’m pretty unsettled.
I’d like those three in particular to work hard on elaborating on their top scum reads today.

@ghug, I’d like to see your top scumreads (at least 2-3), with some reasons, today as well.

Worked long shifts and had a lot of stuff to do around the house cause my future in-laws are coming to visit this weekend. Got some more errands to run this afternoon, but I'm off work today so I should be around a lot more.
I'll get caught up on the last 5 pages or so.
@Ike - I voted for bozo because his only early activity was a vote for rdr that was possibly a joke vote since bozo always claims he scumreads rdr. I thought it could have been an easy place for him to hide as scum. It was somewhere for me to start. It was just something I noticed the first night I read.
I'll give you more on the scumreads after I finish getting caught up, but initially I thought there was something weird between the Balki/xorxes interaction.
I also still think bozo could likely be scum for the reason I noted above. His only other post was a vote for Ezio for his low activity...
Speak of the devil and he doth appear
Let's go with Ezio next
@Ezio
Why vote for a no lynch?
Why only post a no lynch vote and nothing else, why not try to get people to support your vote?
Anyone sticking out to you as town or scum?

You've elaborated on me but why are Xorxes and Bozo in your lynch pool? I will post more scum reads as well as elaboration a little later

##vote no-lynch today. I can't find a scumread in my head worthy enough to vote someone.

(and reeder asked about one of these questions....)teacher2 wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 2:26 pmnot sure what you meant here, since I dont see it. Can you elaborate?dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 1:44 pmBalki Bartokomous. . . . . He suggested and started the D1 read thing this game, and that gets towncred.
One of only two major disagreements on reads, so I want to plumb more. The Oxford comma question was unusually detail oriented and got major town cred from me. Can you elaborate on why you dont see that (or the ghug flashmob/Ezio participation) questions as quality?dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 1:44 pmRagingIke297. Note to self. Check his interactions WITH others (other than Balki and about Thamrick.) I always read Ike scum on D1 and today is no exception. His decision to ‘step into’ the role of Big Talkers seems townie. But what he says doesn’t seem big. Maybe quantity… but not quality? Scum.
The other disagreement (on Xorxes's actions, not your Xorxes read, which is merely a difference). Xorxes attacked two people who voted TrP right out of the gate (me, Telamor) and then his reads list questioned a third PeterLund. I would call this buddying. Why dont you?
In general, my many thanks for the meta information which is helpful for a newb to this environment, and my hope that you can respond before nightfall since it will help my final vote placement. (Im fine on Ezio but also its low-info D1 so can be convinced to move.)
First, about the towncred for Balki... my legal pad next to my laptop, due to my low tech luddite self caused me to misunderstand my own notes. It was not Balki who started this list-posting. It was xorxes. So town cred for him.
Second, the Oxford comma thing didn't register on my radar... I usually find THAT much detail to be not 'real.' Folk either write less purposefully, or MORE purposefully than that observation implies. Not sure what you mean by flashmob...
Third, I didn't see buddying for two reasons... first I tend to be less subtle in buddie reading. I see that he DID defend Prado. But to me, he repeated his 'defense,' without elaborating. So it was just one defense of Prado. Willing to be corrected on this. But it didn't seem like 'reverse tunneling' to me.
In general,
Ezio has joined us! But I didn't find his reply satisfactory. I should be able to jump on again briefly at around an hour before EoD... I will read from this point on, then.
Other people I could switch to today are Ike, snowy, or bozo.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Jamiet seems like a decent Lynch target today too. I get the impression from him that he’s trying to find reasons to lynch people, as opposed to trying to read people. It’s a subtle distinction, and I’m not confident in it, but it’s an impression in the back of my mind that I should share. Also, it may be colored by the fact that I feel like he’s directed those barns at me for what seem to me to be very thin reasoning.
Normally, I don’t expect scum to come after me on Day 1 because I don’t think I’m the low hanging fruit they usually look for. But Jamiet’s arrows are consistent with that because he hasn’t come after me at all. He’s just shot some arrows my way. Kind of like a “everyone look — this thing that Balki did was suspect” sort of thing, with no accompanying wagon driving.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
@Balki - I'm on the fence about you. I've liked a lot of your content, but that's been true of how I've felt about you regardless of alignment. I also feel like you're focusing in odd places at times. You've gone in depth responding to yav's comments a couple times when yav is pretty notorious for mostly relying on gut and not building cases. Are you trying to flesh out cases from him or just draw attention to him?
I liked your response to my Ike townread. It showed you're thinking critically, but again, I think you're capable of doing that as either alignment.
As for your interaction with xorxes, this was the post that stood out to me:
As for conclusions, I think it's very unlikely that both you and xorxes are scum based on that interaction. Either t/t or t/m.

I also thought that xorxes' response to your original question lacked depth, but your reaction seemed over-the-top and forced.

You wrote about Muscle Man Jamie: "Also, it may be colored by the fact that I feel like he’s directed those barns at me"
yeah... if someone threw barns at me, I might read them dis-favorably, too. I recommend ducking.

No follow up questions to my response?
Also, posting questions to Ezio in a thread responding to me seems a good way to get them ignored.
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Pretty sure dargo townslipped in his reads list back on page 16
If dargo was scum, he'd know that the mafia QT isn't open until N1. Maybe just an oversight, but dargo seemed pretty townie before this too, so he's pretty strong townlean to me.dargorygel wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 1:44 pmThamrick. WAY too quiet. But another scum lurking? Would they say in the QT, “most of us lurk? Because lurking has been working SO well in past games?” Maybe… quiet scum.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Well... I WISH it was a townslip... but honestly, it was because the last game I played in (Brain's Mini-Mafia) the scum team I was on DID have constant access to the MafiaQT... and I wrote my statement from kneejerk memory.thamrick wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 4:44 pmPretty sure dargo townslipped in his reads list back on page 16

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
@RagingIke,
My impression of Bozo is pretty similar to that of Thamrick. Bozo hasn’t contributed and his vote does not seem to be well considered. Also, the last time I played here, I was scum with Bozo, and his play here is reminiscent of his play in that game. Though, I have to discount that last thought somewhat because I don’t have a clear baseline of Bozo’s town meta for comparison.
On Xorx, I see more effort to look Town than effort to solve. I like a point made by Teacher (I believe) about the timing Xorx’s read list. The list looks like a prototypical example of a declaration: “look at me, I’m Town because I am doing a reads list.” I don’t think Town Xorx would have felt that such a list was useful at this stage or that any of the comments within the list advanced the discussion in any way.

Waiting to respond until you get those reads out, I'll post the Ezio questions again but if people are actually reading they should see them

Be back on in a couple hours.
@Ike - beyond low posters, who else is in your scumreads? Are you actually concerned with Ezio's no-lynch vote?
@xorxes - update me on your reads list. Still mostly the same or who are the movers and shakers in it?
@Jamie - what's putting yav in your scumreads? Based on your explanation of his meta it seems like you don't feel like you know his meta very well, so what is causing you to scumread him beyond that?
