In chess, it's called zugzwang, but I've stopped caring is the answer, because there is no serious chance that I'll convince anyone of any course of action other than to trundle down the path to a town loss after we kill Bunny.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 7:32 pm@FoxCastle: How can you take the view that removing Bunny today is both the safest thing to do, and the worst possible idea that will lose town the game?
You seem to be saying that you simultaneously hold both of these opinions.
If there's scum on the ship that could use the anti-virus to hit town, or if we think Bunny is going to cooperate with scum for a joint win, then... removing Bunny is the safest thing to do, yes.
And if we remove Bunny today, we are one step closer to KILO with one less day of useful information.
I think if we do not lynch Bunny today, we have to anti-virus him, to close off the chance that he and scum will work together against town. Or, as you point out, he might just decide to throw the game to scum. I wish we could keep him around and simply deny him the win, but we can't.
There is no hidden path to winning the game other than kill scum today, and use the information we get from today's wagons to keep doing it. It's very similar to the path if we kill Bunny today—maybe it's even the same path, I haven't done the math.
