Nothing in this game has angered me, apart perhaps from Ghug's body odour.

You don't know??! Like, you haven't thought about it at all?xorxes wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 9:42 pmI don't know, I would expect him to be less spur of the moment I guess.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 9:27 pm@xorxes, what would you expect Scum RagingIke to be doing on Day 1? Relatedly, what is alignment indicative about RagingIke's behavior so far?
Why would he be less spur of the moment? Come on -- it's your read...I'm trying to understand. When I read Ike I see someone trying to be a part of the thread without really showing any conviction or follow-through with it. To me, that looks more like someone going through the motions of trying to look busy than someone actually trying to solve a puzzle.
You think Ike is town because he is reacting to things immediately and appearing to play more off the cuff? Does any post stand out to you in that way? And that's something you don't think Scum Ike would do? My general sense is that he's trying to participate. There is a possible town motivation and a possible scum motivation for that, and I think, as either alignment trying to do that, he would be "sput of the moment." I don't think scum generally plan everything they say, and count to five before they say it. I think that would be pretty unusual.
How strong is your Ike read?
Make me understand.

Simple. Yavuzovic should get a tattoo of a picture of a post-it note with Balki's question written on it.
I'm sure that's what Balki meant.

I would say Thamrick due to the followingBalki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 9:12 pm@Ike,
I'd like to see your top scumread, with 3 bullet points for why you think that person is most likely to flip scum. Also, please describe your level of confidence in that read.
- In 75% of his posts so far he's buddying/defending/making connections me
-He voted Bozo without mentioning anything else about him
-Last game he asked more questions that talk about multiple peoples votes and their logic, so far he's only questioned you. Another Ex. he asked some why they cast an anchored vote last game which he is doing now this game
I would say right now I'm about 45-50% confident
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Not very. None of my reads are very strong at this point, just first impressions.
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Xorxes, how would you react to, say, Ike, posting a list of reads like that at this point in the game?

Who the fuck is Telamor?
Sounds like an elf. Telamor, are your ears pointy? Can you set me up with Luthien?

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
(1) I'm not sure what you mean by "buddying/defending/making connections." What do you mean by those things, and how are they alignment indicative? Is "buddying" just being polite or playful with others? I think Town Thamrick acts that way too, especially in the first 24 hours. Is defending just explaining why he thinks someone may be town, or disagreeing with someone else's scum read? How is that alignment indicative? And what the Hell is "making connections?RagingIke297 wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 9:50 pmI would say Thamrick due to the following

(2) Yeah, he did that. Pretty conspicuous huh? Is this really a part of your rationale? What is the motivation for Scum Thamrick to do that? I think Thamrick is a pretty good player. Do you agree? What is the strategy behind casting this Bozo vote?
(3) He has made 5 posts. In those posts, he asked questions of Balki, Snowy, reedeer, and Ike. So, it's just not true that he has only questioned Balki. And, he really has not participated much, so this observation seems awfully weak. I think it's valid to say that he has not participated much yet, and I'd be interested to hear if you think there is any alignment indicative conclusion we can draw from that, but I don't see one.
Still feel confident in this read? I don't understand your rationale. Please answer my questions above and support your read, or tell us how and why it's changed.

Catching up from page 5:
Darg and Dr are both against random voting. Random voting is normally useless, but usefulness aside it is a town tactic.
@Dr: Since no one answered you, if you swap the dropdown to an old game and click on the individual phase, you can see the post/word counts for that specific phase.
teach attacks xorx's stance on Prado, and Rike defended him as well. teach follows that up with a weak snowy vote (IMO), then reedeer hedges Prado without joining the wagon.
Prado then doubles down by calling out xorx for getting called out by teach and then vanishing.
The entire whirlwind of activity around Prado is interesting.
I'm not feeling good about reedeer and xorx rn, and I'll back it up with a
##Vote reedeer
on the hedge mostly.
rd is on point and I feel good about what I've seen.
Balki playing dumb that buddying is NAI is strange as hell.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
What does that mean? If it is useless, how is it a town tactic? Isn't it much better for scum to hide behind a "random" vote that they don't need to justify?
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I feel that it's inherent uselessness is part of the beauty of it's town leanings.

Balki, you are an experienced player at this game. Do you really expect us to believe that you don't know what buddying is?Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 10:01 pm

Are you saying it's so obviously bad for town that no mafia would dare suggest it?DemonRHK wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 10:35 pmI feel that it's inherent uselessness is part of the beauty of it's town leanings.
