Balki, your fabrications in PP are always enjoyable reads... I look forward to more of the same here. And thanks for the love on that "random" first vote... I would return the favor, but I don't want to risk losing out on future fables.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 4:25 amLet us not forgot the story of the grasshopper and the ant. As you'll recall, on a bright summer day, a grasshopper was hopping about and playing in a meadow, when he passed an ant who was toiling hard gathering food for the winter. The grasshopper began asking the ant stupid questions to which the grasshopper did not really care the answer. So the ant gathered some friend ants and they all lynched the grasshopper.dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 1:44 amWell, Balki... tell us all you can before you are nightkilled, then. How does random voting promote discussion? Isn't random voting not much better than a joke phase?

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
@xorxes regarding the third vote... I think that was brain's theory. But I also think it is a good one. It loses effectiveness when so many might be aware of it, and play guardedly because of it. But telamor is new...
What do you think of the theory?
@balki I wasn't forgetting that fable. Looking forward to a dead grasshopper!
@everyone... what do you think of the random vote proposal? I don't like it, but I can't figure out how it would particularly benefit scum, unless perhaps it is aimed at making us view Balki as a Leader.
@Prado... well, maybe ABOUT Prado. Does it seem to anyone else that he is sure talking a lot more than usual?

This was funny. Nothing like a fake fake claim to get the pre-coffee synapses firing in the morning.

page 5 I think rdrivera is town. My thinking on this is for secret and mysterious reasons that I will not divulge at this time.

I don't think it benefits scum inherently, but I wouldn't say it particularly benefits town either. Is there anything you specifically don't like about it?dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 12:39 pm@everyone... what do you think of the random vote proposal? Oh dear, I wouldn't say more than usual but absolutely more than I should considering I still have one more paper to finish.dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 12:39 pm@Prado... well, maybe ABOUT Prado. Does it seem to anyone else that he is sure talking a lot more than usual?

I'm not at all sure where to start with that other post though, lmao
Can you elaborate where you were thinking of going with that?

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
@prado Day 1 is often meaningless. If it has use, it seems to me that it is useful much later in the game, as we look back. And I suspect that random votes that are truly random will mislead us. But hardly anyone voted that way, so it's not really a problem. I am mostly thinking that Balki is cleverly trying to set himself up as Leader...

Hmmm. He is defending Balki here, isn't him?TrPrado wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 1:01 pmI don't think it benefits scum inherently, but I wouldn't say it particularly benefits town either. If Balki is town - and I think he is: TrPrado is either good or buddying with Balki.
If Balki is scum: I can say TrP is likely scum either.
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
1) I am not fond of the random voting and I would guess it allows mafia to vote for townies under the guise of random, while I at least feel like I would be voting at random anyway. But, by that same logic at least early random voting allows for some discussion and potential knowledge gain.dargorygel wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 12:39 pm

2) I have no idea about people's talkativeness... peterbot seems pretty wonderful, is there a way to see word count/phase for old games? I see where it shows yav and TrPrado as the most talkative so far in this game... I also see that we still have a new player that hasn't spoken yet... what does that mean TrPrado... reader of all newcomers?
Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
Interesting. Second chainsaw defense noted. (First one against my emoji jokes).
Both times reasons seemed logical, but most of your posts have been criticizing TRPrado votes. Juss Sayin'

I thought that post was kinda weird but hadn't looked back to check if he'd been doing that before. Who do you think is more likely to flip scum between me and him?

Oh I just realized you meant the post where he "moved you up one scum notch"

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
@tr - If that question is to me, do you mind in future directing it with a name (sorry, with this forum's code, it will just help me make sure I respond to people asking me stuff in the future).
Anyways, right now in reality I think I have about the same odds, even though I scum him more. The reason is because Im a shite day 1 hunter. I work regressively through vca and wagon analysis, which I cant do right now.

I can't read Prado! I don't know what his usual is but he is behaving like neither town nor scum.
^ DrC's concerns are really townie here. I'm writing him on my townlist.

I presume you mean his post about random voting? Can you explain what is particularly townie about that inherently? I'm not sure I'd say there was enough substance there to make that call.

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
So we're 6 pages in and Chaqa, Ezio and Stressedlines are absent to this point.
With Chaqa that's sadly par for the course (which is no defence, so wakey wakey, Chaq).
Ezio is oddly quiet. Where are you, oh bullet-magnet?
Is this Stressedlines' first game?

Re: MAFIA XXXVI: ODDJOB'S REVENGE
I played RL and several PBEM games a long time ago. I recently have more time (changing professions), so just got back into the habit. Familiar enough, I suppose, but the meta of my other current games is different than the old style (similar to how the Turkish attack of Russia in 1901 is a new fad), so I would say experienced but still liable to misread/misplay things.

TrPrado how do you feel about being a leading wagon?
Why did you pretend to break the rules, at the start?
Is your seafood restaurant still in business?

We're less than 24 hours into the game. There's not much to feel about it. I wouldn't be too concerned or distracted by it unless that's still the case at EOD.
Because I like the illusion that I'm funny.
Yes, it's doing quite well.
