Wait there's a third party that doesn't win alone?

According to the rules, the 3P only loses if they die before winning or if town or scum win before the 3P wins. So 3P wants survival, the game to last a while, and advancement of their goals.

If the 3P wins, the game continues for scum and town (one of whom will also win). So neither scum nor town are necessarily motivated to hunt 3P nor help 3P. However (see my previous post), I think there are strong arguments for helping 3P as town (I've been thinking about this for at least a week or two now).

I am awake! Wow! What a world! Will read later...much to read I see!
Were you napping, or do you live in central Asia?
I live in lovely Sydney, Australia! When you guys are awake (say NY 9am to 6pm) I am asleep (11pm to 8am) and vice versa. Luckily, I am a long-time night prowler (from online chess/stock trading/ICQ days) and other night activities (for example, this coming weekend I will be "attending" some online art auctions being conducted from Detroit, Michigan) so I will be checking the thread every now and again (in between looking at art and napping on the desk).

PM me if you are interested in looking at the art auctions too, and I can introduce you to them as my friend...

Why does it sound like you’re using art auction as a euphemism for sex dungeon

Damn, I was hoping you were from central Asia. Aussies are pretty fun too, though.

Is art auction a euphemism? Is this expensive art or normal person art? Why Detroit? I have so many (three) questions.

It's the part about being introduced as his friend that makes it sound like a sex cult.

The quotation marks and ellipsis helped too.

So much to catch up on. I know I am shyte on my analysis as I stop putting 2 and 2 together. However, in my (limited) experience, my gut says:

Scumreading: Macca, therul
Iffy scumreading: nanook

I feel like they're all trying really hard at fitting in with some information, etc. Granted, there is a lot more for me to read. This thread suddenly opened up to 8 pages in a blink of an eye.

Townreads? No one really, yet.

Don't cry; don't raise your eyes. It's only teenage wasteland.

Sup. Awful lot of introductory talk this game.

@BunnyGo Why did you talk about Chaqa making weird traps in his game but not complain about me doing that exact thing last game (and it working)?

I'd encourage everyone to go back to post 138 by BunnyGo. It's a pretty good dissection of what they "think" would carry the game. It appears that they've given a lot of thought to it. Does that give a read? Not to me at this point. Could be earnest. Could be a big heaping hot pile of bullshit. I applaud it though.

I wasn't really in the last game. By the time I showed up as a sub, there was a scum slip. Then another. Honestly, I didn't pay any attention to the game.

That said, the difference I see between the styles is Chaq has claimed a PR, drawn out the real PR, and then back tracked as "just trying to shake things up." Yours had a plan of long term goal, little cost if it failed (like we weren't going to out a PR or make it so we'd always wonder if you were scum just for doing that plan alone). You weren't swinging huge and costing the game on a miss. If your plan hadn't succeeded, nobody would have known for sure it ever was a plan.

Why is think in quotations? How does it only appear that I've given it thought. To produce that even as a lie would require quite a bit of thought. I'm also on the record pregame as having said I'm thinking hard about the 3P mechanic. What is this post? And then "applaud it" at the end? This reads like a political smear campaign under the guise of "I'm not saying anything, I'm just asking questions".

I used the quotation marks since what you think and what you say could be two very different things. In my own awkward way I was offering a compliment. You've put some deep-dive into this. Way more than I have. I think your post, at this early point in the game, would serve as a touchstone to go back to and serve as a reminder.

2nd. And I haven't got the hang of the shit-posting. And I know I need to spend more time trying to analyze and question. But it's tricky at this point.
