Hi all!
To GM: thanks for posting the guide, though I found and read it as soon as I signed up
Is a lynch on the first day even a thing? Last and only time I played Mafia it was FTF, about five years ago, but I think the killings weren't starting until Mafia's pick on the first night.

I'm certainly not a go-to source around here, but there is no n0 and it's almost guaranteed someone will not return from the dinner party.Minister of Silly Walks wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 12:51 amHi all!

I haven't deduced any useful information yet, so my decision would be simply random and thus the chance of voting for a mafioso would be 25%. I could wait for longer and vote for someone I am reasonably sure will not be elected, but this vote would make no more impact than a no-lynch one.
If I start having any serious suspicions. I will change my vote. If not, this turn I will stick to no-lynch as the best alternative to "kill everyone else right away and you will probably win".

I feel like you're a pretty amiable person. It's like you'd welcome newcomers to the town with a freshly baked pie. Nothing wrong with that. Do you bake pies?

We only have a limited number of chances to kill mafia before they kill enough of the town to win.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 1:49 amYes, you and I, both. Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes. Re: Mini-Mafia M1012
I don't know who you or anyone else is. I have not seen any evidence pointing at you or at anyone else, and not much if any reasoning behind voting for you or anyone else. With what little experience I lack I cannot imagine how such evidence can appear on the first day short of someone posting a screenshot of their role, and the latter seems to be prohibited by the rules.summit_fever wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 1:38 am

From my perspective, you are 50% townie, 12.5% doctor, 12.5% policeman and 25% mafioso, and thus more probably a friend than not. The same goes for everyone else.
I know there are two people who are against me, and you might or might not be one of them with a 25% chance, but I don't want to make any unwarranted accusations.

Sorry, I think I should cut down on paranoia... Though I probably won't, especially if anyone advises me to.

Re: Mini-Mafia M1012
So the favourable outcomes are against us, I guess. Theoretical probability of choosing a townie ( sorry, is that too crass?) the first night is 7/9? That’s not so good.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:19 am

Re: Mini-Mafia M1012
Let's put it another way though - if we lynch tonight and choose wrongly we get up to two more wrong guesses, if we don't lynch tonight we get up to two more wrong guesses. Why would you throw away a chance to guess today?Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:42 amSo the favourable outcomes are against us, I guess. I do not think this is accurate, I voted early D1 in M55 also.summit_fever wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 12:41 amI wouldn't go that far. If flash wants to scumread me for "Boo!" he's more than welcome to. I don't believe I've seen an early vote from you on such shaky pretenses before. It's rather interesting.

Re: Mini-Mafia M1012
We could choose not to day kill anyone until there are 3 town and 2 mafia, but then we would have to vote out mafia 2 days in a row while the mafia have maximum influence over the vote.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:42 amSo the favourable outcomes are against us, I guess.
