Re: NFL DRAFT 2018
I liked the Packers first round. Essentially trading the 14th overall down to the 16th to gain a 1st round next year, all while filling a very important need at CB is pretty slick

Re: NFL DRAFT 2018
I am not in favor of the draft. I think we should have only an all volunteer NFL.
Re: NFL DRAFT 2018
I hear that if you dodge the draft, they send you off to play in the CFL. The imperialist war machine is capable of such horrors...dargorygel wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 12:52 pmI am not in favor of the draft. I think we should have only an all volunteer NFL.

Re: NFL DRAFT 2018
The Colts have had over 700 QB hits in the last 6 seasons and no less than 107 QB hits in a single season while paying one of the most highly touted #1 picks in NFL $140,000,000 to spend half a season on the bench and the other half rehabbing in Europe. They have drafted almost a dozen O-linemen in these past 6 years, including some in the first and second round, that are no longer on the team. They take Quentin Nelson in the first round, one of the most polished and powerful O-linemen ever to come out of college and an immediate plug-and-play starter at left guard. In doing so, former first round Anthony Castonzo is going to be the LT, Nelson gets thrown in at LG, and 2016 first rounder Ryan Kelly goes in at C. The left side of the line for the Colts is pretty effectively solved by filling in that massive hole with the guy who just so happened to be the best one left on the board. That turns the Colts offense into a potentially powerful threat with Andrew Luck back and an offensive line that is a lot better even before the last two days of the draft.
The Ravens nabbed Lamar Jackson, probably their QB of the future, by trading into the end of the first round. Joe Flacco is not and never has been elite, but he's been worth the investment on their part for the two good runs he had. Jackson can sit behind him for a couple of years and be mentored by RG3, Flacco's official backup. Two years down the line, Lamar Jackson is gonna be ready for the big show and he's gonna have a hell of a coming out party in Baltimore.
The Buffalo Bills didn't have to give up both of their first round picks to get the #2 or #4 pick in order to get their guy. They watched two QBs they probably didn't care much for go early and had Rosen and Allen falling back to them. They got their guy at #7 with a first rounder left to spare. He can sit behind AJ McCarron, who has been deserving of a starting spot for awhile now, while Buffalo retools their offense. With their second pick, they got another guy that fell further than he should have in Tremaine Edmunds. He's going to be one of the best LBs in football down the road. He's huge, he's fast, he can play coverage and catch, he can rush outside, he can rush inside. I really don't know why the Bears took Roquan Smith over him, but obviously they saw something they liked in him that assuaged the obvious concern that he doesn't fit in at ILB in any 3-4 system. The Bills got a steal, and if Josh Allen pans out down the road, they got two steals without giving up all of their day 2 picks - they still have #65 in the 3rd round from the Tyrod Taylor trade.

Nah, it's the Canadian Football League. Plays similar to NFL but on a 150 yard field and some other differencesdargorygel wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:46 pmIsn't the CFL where they play soccer?GarlMargs wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:29 pmI hear that if you dodge the draft, they send you off to play in the CFL. Aye... I was making a 'football-soccer' kind of joke. Because it's Canada. Only not so funny, apparently...GarlMargs wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 7:03 pmNah, it's the Canadian Football League. Plays similar to NFL but on a 150 yard field and some other differences
Re: NFL DRAFT 2018
I think there's a couple teams you could make a case for, but, I agree that the Packers likely did the best.
i mean, the rams mightve had the best solely because they managed to drop tavon during it

and ill make a case for the eagles, because trading up to steal the dallas pick was hilarious.
