AT LEAST 2 scum in the VTsbozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 6:44 amPR: xorxes, Vecna, flash, emc, TFB

Have not heard from since PR/VT mass claim began:
Chaqa, TRC
Others:
worcej, Bob, JF, Bismarck
We have 2 scum in the VTs so far. It would be helpful if our last 3 PRs would claim.

As far as I can tell, you have only played in M37, M38, and M55. M38 was terminated after D2, and worcej was the GM of M55.BismarckAlive wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:11 amyesbozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:59 amWere they all on this site?BismarckAlive wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:51 am

My guess is that JF is not a VT.JF1981 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 10:10 pmVT?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 5:56 pmDo you understand what we are doing with the mass claim? If your role is one of the 8 town roles with special abilities (Power Role or PR), you claim you are a PR, but do not tell us your exact role. If you are a VT, you claim VT. If you are mafia, you will have to figure out what to do.JF1981 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:54 pmIts not easy joining as a noob and some more experienced players pile in with terminology, votes, the setup of the game is different now to what is was initially (mafia/cops) etc
##vote bozo
no offence but it is just a holding vote until i properly read the 18 pages and make a decision. dont want to miss a vote- can always change it im told

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
It means Vanilla Town, which is the name for all town without abilities, or town who are not PRs.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
From a town person's pov there are 11,628 possible scumteams (any 5 from 19).Macca573 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 1:59 amSorry this was unclear. These questions are not asking for what I should do. They are trying to find out how we understand outcome to action. i.e. Once we have everyone's claims, how do judge truth and move forwards?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 1:18 amIf you are town, no matter if VT or PR you say the truth. If one town lie it screw with all the massclaim benefits.Macca573 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 1:14 am
Ok, some questions.
If I am a PR, what benefit would get from claiming either? Claiming PR for constancy, or VT to stop myself getting killed?
If I'm a VT what benefit could be got from lying and saying PR?
If I'm Scum, what benefit would I get from either choice?
Knowing how other peoples real states impact their choices is vital in understanding the effects of the massclaim. I don't wish to participate in something I don't understand.
If you are scum I will not give you hints.
Let's us assume there are 10 VT claims and 10 PR (not unreasonable).
The possible scumteams are
3 VT claimants + 2 PR (165)
4 VT + 1 PR (220)
5 VT (252).
637 possible scumteams.
A reduction of > 94%.
This is why town should press for massclaim and only vote for those resisting.

From the game setup:bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:30 amIt means Vanilla Town, which is the name for all town without abilities, or town who are not PRs.
If you are town, you will have one of these roles. There are 7 players with the role "Tenderfoot Scout (VT)". If this is your role, you are a VT. If you have any of the other town roles, you are a town PR.Town Roles:
Scoutmaster - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home. Each night, you will choose a watcher and a target. The watcher and their buddy (if they have one) will receive a message telling them whether the target scanned as clean or dirty. They will not know who the target is. You cannot assign yourself to be on watch. If you are roleblocked, no one will be on watch, and you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed. If the target of the watch is sent home, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed. If no one was able to watch, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed.
Senior Patrol Leader - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home. Each night, you may choose 1 player. You will be told whether their buddy scans as clean or dirty. You cannot self target. If the player you choose has no buddy, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed. If you are roleblocked, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed.
Quartermaster - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home. Each night, you may choose 1 player. You will be told who that player's partner is. If the player you choose has no partner, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed. If you are roleblocked, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed.
First Aid Expert A/First Aid Expert B - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home. Each night, you may choose 1 player. If that player is sent home, you will prevent that from happening. If you are set to 'off' by a patrol leader, you are roleblocked, or your target was not targeted to be sent home, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed.
Troop Cool Guy A/Troop Cool Guy B - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home. You have three abilities at your disposal during the game. You may use each ability only once, and only one ability per night. You have one silly spray (Roleblock). You have one first aid kit (Prevents yourself from being sent home). You have one tape recorder - choose a target at night. If you are sent home, the scoutmaster will receive a scan on that player. If the scoutmaster is sent home, the result will be posted in thread. If any of your actions fail for any reason, you will receive a message alerting you that your action failed.
The Good Patrol Leader - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home. You are in charge of the switch controlling between 'Brown Noser' (A) and 'Prankster' (B). Your switch begins set to 'Brown Noser' (A). Each night you can choose to flip your switch. The role that is not selected by your switch will automatically fail.
7x Tenderfoot Scout (VT) - You are aligned with town and scan as clean. You win when all mafia aligned players are sent home.
You are one of only 5 players who have not claimed if they are a PR or VT, so it would be helpful to town for you to state if you are a PR or VT.

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
I think it does. Winning while alive is better than winning when dead, which is in turn better than losing dead or alive. So, lasting quite a bit is good from that analysis, as well as from the point of view that playing for a long time is more fun, than playing for a short time. So, from that analysis, lasting quite a bit is also good. In fact, I can't really see what is bad about lasting quite a bit, either as Town or as Mafia...damo666 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:10 amSurvival does not necessarily equate to goodnessBismarckAlive wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:51 amThis is the 3rd I think, and he always lasts quite a bit...![]()
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
Being perfectly frank- the game as described fascinated me.... Wanted to really get into it and see what it was all about but:
1- Pages and pages of chat to work through felt like homework
2- The setup changing didnt help me as a noob (mafia/scouts etc)
3- "in the know" terminology also hurts noobs as "massclaim" and the debate over it by people who have played before just left me confused
Someone just kill me now and remove me as i wont add value as im lost and bordering on not enjoying this
Removing my vote for bozo too

Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
I am sorry you are not enjoying the game, but 15 out of 20 players have claimed PR or VT, so not claiming now is detrimental to town. Can you please state if you are a PR or VT now if you plan on leaving the game? If you do not wish to continue, you can request a sub.JF1981 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:37 amBeing perfectly frank- the game as described fascinated me.... That is correct, and if my memory is good, then I remember Worcej being measured, always Towny, and never ever coaching in-thread.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:17 amAs far as I can tell, you have only played in M37, M38, and M55. M38 was terminated after D2, and worcej was the GM of M55.

Do you think you have played any games other than M37 that involved worcej lasting a while?BismarckAlive wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:35 amI think it does. M37 he was superb. Right now, he is one of the 5 not participating in what the 15 others think is a good plan for us clean scouts. I am keeping my vote on him until he claims, and then I will re-assess based on the splits.
