The flips will tell us alignment - dirty or clean - but not their roles. That is enough information to analyse the voting trends / trains / interactions with the dead etc just like always.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:22 amThe big topic we shouldve covered was how a flipless game changes information lynches. We always assume games without info are terrible. Most lynches this game will be based on volume, who seems reactionary, what posts contain perceptual flaws, and what chat pairings result in deaths.
If someone ends up in an empty chat its worth noting.
additionally dont forsake instinct. gut feelings are crucial in a flipless game. its eaay to lose scent and dive into radical theories on scumteams, w/w tinfoil and bus conspiracies. Trust me. Thats basically all I am.
That being said, when theres no flips theres no bussing. because whats the point?

Now I just have to work out how to actually go about hunting.Vecna wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 12:02 pmFor those that have been playing this for a long time, quite a bit is discernible from just the chat (or so they want to make themselves believe at leasT). Thats what this game is all about. You cannot just wait and sit around for stuff to happen. You make it happen yourself by ruffling feathers and creating discussion to determine which people are honestly trying to figure shit out, and which people are just bullshitting around to try and appear as such.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
none of scums roles look very sexy. and our PR not flipping specific is a liability if any scum are currently pr claimaints. they can potentially janitor their way in by reductive reasoning.BismarckAlive wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:33 amThe flips will tell us alignment - dirty or clean - but not their roles. I have played enough games with Worcej to know (1) he is a great player, hard to read, and (2) his wall on the bot was way different to what I remember from our joint games in that in this one he seems to be coaching by hypothesising with the massclaim numbers. I have never seen him doing that...I think it is because he saw how many newbies there were, did his sums, and just needed to give them some massclaim strategy...bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:33 amWhy did you +1 this post but not answer it?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 6:54 amOn what experience are you basing this assessment of worcej?BismarckAlive wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 5:10 am
Interesting...I lean scum. Worcej is way too cunning. He was trying to fuel the massclaim car by making it sound better...

I would like to think that I have slightly more confidence and that helps. I also better understand the nuances of Mafia a bit better than last time.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:32 amI recall donny being skittish last game, and a total suck up. What should I think of this new meta where you appear to just be your own boss
I am going to resist a bad nsfw acorn joke.

OK I am claiming PR.
Claims so far:
PR: xorxes
Non-PR: damo
Today I will be voting to lynch among non-claimants. If everyone claims, then I will vote among non-PRs (unless we have 13 PR claims, which would be awesome).
Vecna's advice is all good except for his opposition to a massclaim based on the absurd notion that we should not be trying to make the game easier to solve.

I suggest someone rereads the rules (or at least expresses themselves more clearly). There is an alignment flip but no role flip. Bussing is still very much a feature of this game, and will happen.brainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 7:22 amThe big topic we shouldve covered was how a flipless game changes information lynches. Yeah, I decided to respond to that while catching up and without reading ahead so it wouldn't get pushed out of my mind. Not my strong point I have to admit.
Re: Mafia 56: Scout Camp
There is definetely disappointment expressed here. whether its that hes scum tryinh to fight the gameplan, or hes a good PR very bothered by just revealing the royal flush... is the dilly pickle huereVecna wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 2:09 pm##unvote Xorxes
You clearly havent broken enough setups yet for the novelty to wear off and for it to get boring. There is only opposition and stubborness ahead, and were probably going to end up mislynching some towny today that is flat-out refusing.
Anyways, lets see where this goes. Ill not be the one to be difficult for once (or anymore than I have already).
I claim PR.

the tenorsummit_fever wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 12:46 amI'm not sure why anybody new would suggest mass claiming is dumb. This setup was apparently vulnerable to massclaiming given vecna's first post in the sign-up thread and Squigs subsequent modification to the setup.
I do agree with flying that worcej isn't going to respond to pressure and it's pointless to try. I haven't seen anything scummy in worcej except for the fact that refusing to join the claim has caused all kinds of sidetracked conversation.
Given that the massclaim gained traction I think it's important that we get it done with as quickly as possible so we can move on. Can a non 100% massclaim ever benefit town compared to just getting it over with?
I don't like either one of the main wagons.
