I was not banned for being abusive.

I was banned for questioning their approach to rules and setup. It's a long story. There are some people over there who think they are perfect and don't take criticism well.

I was GMing when the bo_sox and brainbomb issues happened. I spent some time thinking about both issues and decided neither had broken the rules, though I didn't love the strategy they were using. You can look at the God thread for the game to see my thoughts on it.

I'm not against a very basic code of conduct for players. It should be very simple, i.e. common sense stuff like no death threats, no racism/homophobia, etc. that is already basically covered under the site rules, plus maybe a few guidelines for players to follow and not be dicks.

I don't particularly think our issues stem from people being dicks, though. I think they stem from us being really bad at mafia.

Let me add my 2 cents in here. Brainbomb, Jamiet, enough with the rules crap. Stop accusing people of accusing people of accusing people of possibly breaking the site rules. If you actually think site rules are being broken then you EMAIL the mods, and you both damn well know this with how long you've been on this site. You don't turn it into forum drama.

"Issues taking place in forum games should be dealt with by respective game GMs and escalated to the moderators only if absolutely necessary." Please also note the special rule for this entire section which shows up for every thread here.

I have faith that you all can work out a way to behave at least somewhat acceptably going forward. I will check back here in a few days, I trust everyone will have a solution worked out and I'll be able to go back to ignoring Mafia as a whole.

I think the above would have been better said if jmo simply pointed out that everyone else besides you two are willing to let bygones be bygones and keep the bullshit contained to the games themselves, then simply asked you to please stop. But despite the technical differences in our viewpoints, I echo his sentiment. Also, please stop.

I'm sorry for making light of forum drama. It's easy when you're not involved in it because it seems so meaningless, but I understand that for the people involved it can feel very real.

It's just... so easy to log off and go do something fun outside and everything that happens online seem so inconsequential.

I think Kit has some personal things going on at the moment. Ike would know more if she'll be back.

actually he wouldnt, none of us have heard from her in a bit. long story. but suffice it to say I think she is probably still involved in diplomacy and maybe shes still a mod here. so I wont speak for her on that.
