If there is a mafia tracker, it is possible emc would try to clear himself by claiming it as scum, but I doubt there is a mafia tracker, because that would not be very useful to scum.

Was there some other role which, if Bismarck had claimed it, would have caused you to move your vote off him?

Emc is another thing. I will use the motivation meme. What is the motivation forc scum to claim Universal Backup of a lynched and janitored player? This thing is so unlikely to be claimed by scum that I think he is either town or still a 3P with a Tracker ability (even in this case it's unlikely as scum will eventually kill a Tracker). It could also make sense if he has a recruiting 3P role, but in this case it's a really convoluted thing that involves Chaqa and Food. But I don't want to enter this kind of possibility unless they stay alive too long.

My current top hypothesis is that everything he has claimed is true except for the alignment. In other words, he was indeed the 3P Universal Backup and absorbed Mafia Tracker from Donny. The motivation to tell this to Chaqa is that he spoke too soon or he could not come up with a better story, and so he went with the easiest which was to lie the least possible, i.e. tell everything except for the alignment. If Chaqa had kept the secret it would have worked much better for him.

This ia possible, but rely on emc playing really badly. And not talking with his scummates first, which isn't likely. Do you think the all scum will agree with something like this? If this is the case, I would rather think he is still 3P with a tracking ability.

What would you have told him to tell Chaqa if you were his teammate in those circumstances? Wouldn't any other lie be way more complicated to keep up?

Remember that he did try to get Chaqa to keep quiet about his role.
