It looks like anyone who used the term "Bolt" or "Bolt Thrower" did so after foodcoats called himself that:
Also, it was posted during the night, not D1.
I'd say it's at least weird.
If the role throws the lightning rod to some player, and Mafia has that role, it would make sense to throw it to one of their own, counting on there being a protective role in play that would save them, or maybe even having a protective role of their own.

Why me Foodcoats? I voted Chaqa as I explained. I thought Chaqa much more scum than anyone else when I voted. I din't move either. What have I done to deserve your vote?foodcoats wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 1:20 pmI think your reasoning on Donny is correct - especially if you look at the flow of votes onto Donny. The people who voted Donny early, up until vote 8 or 9, really look quite townie in how they do it. I initially thought that scum would be in the middle of the wagon, but I read all those characters and I really thought they were all pretty genuine and non-opportunistic - except for my grand read of Chaqa, but I have learned that was incorrect. I'm pretty sure that any scum on Donny were near the end instead, or were off on vanity wagons.damo666 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 10:45 amI have rethought the Donny/emc/chaqa situation. I think the easiest explanation is that Donny was just unlucky in referencing secretary and was in fact town implying EMC almost certainly town and also Chaqa (his instruction post not making sense otherwise).
If we take this pov Vecna becomes suspicious. I also didn't like him disappearing (I acknowledge he gave an excuse but his 'drunkposting' reappearance looked very false (and I should know)).
##vote Vecna
I also have my suspicions about Neph. His posts have been very strange, quasi sacrificial in nature. Maybe he has a scum role that if lynched he takes someone of his choosing with him.
And what is food self voting all about.
I think self voting should be against the rules.
I really don't think Vecna is scum...
I was angry at xorxes failing to understand what is pretty elementary, namely that scum!emc would never claim a wild story. emc is an old hand at this and wouldn't unnecessarily complicate their cover story.
##VOTE Bismarck
again for now.
Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
##VOTE EMC
I think EMC had danced around too many things for him to have been telling the truth, and that means he's not town. Or he's telling the truth badly, and took on Donny's scum slot.

The person claiming to be the Lighting Rod specified that it was called Bolt Thrower.

The "Bolt Thrower" ?
Could you explain your role?
I assume it is like a Lightning Rod, but...
The followup I believe was clarification
Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Maybe if im wrong on brainbomb he's more correct here.
Fox and Flash are also bad this game.
Especially flash

Oh look Bismarck is here.
You need to cast a valid vote, Biscmarck. Look alive!

Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Different circumstances. brain was spur of the moment after reading results of the night and getting his PM. emc had to come up with a story to tell Chaqa to explain his role, which was possibly all true except for the alignment. Unfortunately I don't know how the chat between them in the QT went, so I can't judge how spontaneous it was, how much time emc had to plan his answers, if he told him he was 3P too quickly before realizing the consequences, and so on. It's all mostly a black box, we only know the outcome but not how it developed.kgray wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 8:10 pmHmm. Weird that you're using something being "elaborate" as a reason why you don't think it's likely to have happened. If you're going to make that connection, then surely emc making up the 3p universal backup role would be more "elaborate," and therefore even less likely to be true?xorxes wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 8:02 pmI assume they would, but if that was brain, why would he say that he could not find food before figuring out that many other people got pretty much the same message. It looked like he was eager to divulge information only he had. I guess it could be fake, but seems a bit elaborate to do that.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 7:55 pm
We are assuming the NK was redirected to foodcoats and failed, so would the scum performing the NK get a message saying foodcoats was not NKed?
Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Okay, so what would you have done in my place? Tell the truth? Look where that got me here.
I think you are reading too simplified.

I'm concerned how little movement or consolidation there is this close to EoD.
Too many people are sitting on solo wagons.

Yeah, just wanted to clarify that foodcoats did not (in my opinion) appear to be saying his official role was "Bolt-Thrower," which is what I thought Jamie was implying, but rather "Lightning Rod."
I'm not sure how much it matters, except that "bolt-thrower" kind of implies you can target someone else.
Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Like, it never was really about mechs, but more about plausible motivations as scum or town or other? And how much that factors in to things. Mechs would be like sussing NK or block and stuff.
Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Yes.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 7:41 pmI have been taking extra care not to tunnel Brainbomb in an effort to maintain my pledge to remain calm and polite.Vecna wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 7:39 pmJamiet, would you agree with me that EMC only does this plan if he is a godfather?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 1:54 pmFoodcoats, I see you are here.
Please read my last three posts and then vote for EMC, thanks.
No way in a role madness setup he would focus this much attention on himself, yes? With likely cops, or role cops, or what not.
I think youre wrong here buddy.
EMC has gotten better over time at playing scum/3p, but his level of free posting just seems too genuine here.
Also, think of all the games where you feel the need to scumread brainbomb while he's town. Yet here you do not feel that urge. Why do you think that is?
Read my posts on his progression on certain people.
He is just positioning. He's not actually trying to solve. He is carefull. Tries not to piss off people.
But I think you could be right about him.
Certainly he is not his usual manic self.
But then you could say "Jamiet is not his usual asshole self" so... I dunno.
As for EMC, I wonder if he was compelled to go all-in because of Chaqa outing him?
That, and he's being tunneled left and right by everyone and their dog.
That puts you on edge and makes you go into survival mode
But then again, ive been fooled by him once before.
But usually im correct.
If this is an actual scum plan, it would be holy mother of god-levels of brave
Because itll never work if thats what it is.

Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Vecna why did you mumble about a Brainbomb wagon but then abandon the idea?
Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Why did you think he was scum day1 when it looked like I was going to tunnel on him?

##Vote BismarckAlive
Not my ideal lynch, but I’m patiently against the EMC lynch right now and I think the scum team might be like brain, Dargo, Neph, Bismarck’
I think brain’s outrage at the webdip rules and Bismarck’s potential mod kill is faux outrage and he wants to get town cred for lynching Bismarck and make sure scum can’t go down by 2 OR lose Bismarck while also losing a viable mislynch in EMC.

Re: M55: The Last Party - Game Thread
Brainbomb with a "policy" vote on someone he doesn't necessarily scumread seems odd. He normally has 20 or 30 scumreads by now.

And commuter would probably give a similair message to jailkeeper?
What else is the explenation? That he's a scum commuter and his scummate used the bolt thrower ability on him? Because that wouldnt work im sure
